Back when Until Dawn first released I remember my roommates playing it and shrieking from the next room. It gave me a definite Cabin in The Woods vibe, where players would almost be a 3rd party spectator and choose to help or abandon characters to move the story along with many different endings depending on who lived and who perished. Well now Supermassive games is going back, way back, with  The Inpatient, a PSVR prequel to Until Dawn.

The Blackwood Sanatorium, where the Impatient takes place and the time period over 60 years before Mike and the Blackwood  guests ever even think of checking into the Blackwood Pine. Fans and newcomers of the series will both be welcome as playing Untill Dawn will now be a requirement in order to get the story as The Inpatient will be a brand new stand alone game.

While most is unknown about the the main character, you will play as a amnesia stuck patient in the sanatorium filled with plenty of mysterious characters and settings, including the a man named Jefferson Brag. Similar to Untill Dawn’s gaming system, how players interact with various patients and characters will affect the story and situations you get into as you progress through the game.

The Impatient has a release of November 21st of this year

With Defenders just released the other week (I really need to finish it) Netflix is already has more Marvel shows in the works. Now Daredevil’s best introduced the walking dead’s Jon Bernthal’s Punisher into the Marvel Netflix Uniniverse with his own series. His disregard for the law and crime alike slowly crawled into our favorites on the show. By the end of the season 2 we were defiantly wanting more, I think what did it was, the jail scene. Early this week before the teaser trailer was released the Punisher twitter account tweeted this out.

Fans recognized the Morse Code and dechpired them into what seem to be episode titles.  Which are as follows:

  1. 3am
  2. Two Dead Men
  3. Kandahar
  4. Resupply
  5. Gunner
  6. The Judah’s Goat
  7. Crosshairs
  8. Cold Steel
  9. Front Toward Enemy
  10. Virtue of the Vicious
  11. Danger Close
  12. Home
  13. Memento Mori

The Punisher is possibly set to come out this year or sometime early the beginning of 2018

Xbox had a great showing at there press conference. Coming right out of the game showing the history and gaming resultions over the course of the Xbox lifeline leading up to the highest achieved so far 4k resolution. Following a great 3d animated short showcasing some of the big features of the new, now titled Xbox One X, including the reveal of it’s launch date, and new specs. All of which include immense power with the Xbox One X. Going down the specs list some of which including 12gb of GDDR5 ram,  a cpu core that clocks in at around 2.3GHz, and high speed memory bandwidth, not to mention the new and improved cooling system.

One of the things that caught my attention was there was very little talking, besides the short and breif game presentations. Even Phil Spencer himself, spent most of his time talking about the new Xbox One X which was revealed at the price of $499. Which isn’t necessarily terrible, but with a most consumers not yet owning a 4k resolution TV it will interesting to see how the console will sell at it’s release date, November 7th of this year. Even while admits the numerous indie titles, most of which are still in development. At least one I myself(and most) were excited about, was the final release date of Cuphead, a sidescrolling shoot them up with the look and feel of a 1950s old timey cartoon.

While this isn’t the first press conference xbox has had without Halo,Gears of war, and other notable first party titles. They did reveal new software, like Forza with the new inclusion of the very first official real life car and brand, Porsche. One thing that drew me in was the new gameplay demo of Sea of Theives which we got a brief look at last years press conference. To round out the exclusives, Microsoft had a very welcomed reveal of Crackdown 3,with the help of mega buff super star Terry Crews. Another notable announcement was that the Xbox One systems would be backwards compatible with original Xbox games as the crowed erupted, while I wasn’t personally excited for the “Crimsion Skies” game they were showing I was pumped at the prospect of playing other fun original Xbox games.

The Xbox One X will be available on November 7th at the price of $499.

This morning Ubisoft unveiled a new trailer for Far Cry 5, following the build up they’ve  been teasing all week long. This time around players are cast into Hope County, which is definitely a change of scenery considering this is the first game that takes place in the United States. Hopes County looks to give players new skies, rivers, woods and all that the Montana countryside has to offer. The main antagonist of FC5, Jospeh Seed and his fanatical cult followers will be challenging players in this new environment and push them and react to the choices made in the game.

Far Cry 5 is scheduled to release February 27, 2018. We hope to see more details and footage at E3.

Today, Blizzard announced a new hero in a short vignette video featuring Orisa, a new tank, built by the brilliant Efi Oladele, a brilliant girl who is pretty much an 11 year old Tony Stark. Orisa is now live on the PTR.

No GravatarWe are less than a week till the Nintendo Switch is released upon the world. Last Friday I got the chance to get hands with the system and a handful of titles here in beautiful San Francisco along with some of the other local press.

One of the first games I tried and was excited about since seeing it released was ARMS. Upon first look, it seeming like a new Wii boxing with new paint, which is only just a small part of the game. I played it a handful of times during my time at the event and slowly became hooked on the fast paced tactical fighting game. I definitely wouldn’t be surprised if ARMS made a debut at EVO next year.

Next, I made my way over to Splatoon 2 area. Being one of the few current gen games that still uses a cel shaded atheistic ala Jet Set Radio I was very excited. While my Ambassador told me to pick one easier weapon types, like the squirt guns or goes to roller, I selected the sniper class and was rightfully defeated several times in a row. Licking my wounds I mosied onto the next game.

Finally, I had made it to the Zelda themed part of the Warehouse. This would of probably been one of the first ones I wanted to play, but had ticket timed group sessions. After finally making my way to a kiosk I started the game, seeingand hearing familiar faces and cues. The demo itself wasn’t entirely long(roughly about 30 minutes) but was more than but a taste the of wonders and adventure it offers.

Some other games I had a chance with at the event were Just Dance 2017, Sonic Mania, Mario Kart 8, Street Fighter Super HD and more. While I won’t be getting one at launch I can safely say the Switch will be delivering a great experience for anyone who gets one in the coming months.

bbFree games are so rare these days. Since the introduction of currency, there’s never been anything given away without wanting something in return.

Well Oculus thinks it’s time to change that, at least with some of it’s new titles coming out on it’s platform. With Dead and Buried as it’s newest title, that makes three AAA games that will be available at launch with the Oculus touch, including VR Sports Challenge and The Unspoken.

In an interesting turn of events CastAR has brought in one of the most unlikely and talented teams to help create the future of AR and VR.

Eat Sleep Play was founded back in 2007 by Scott Campbell and God of War creator, David Jaffe. Since putting out Twisted Metal out on the PS3, the team has also worked on other titles like the soon to be released Drawn to Death as well as others.

The glasses themselves us a new technology call “retro-reflective” which guessing from the name I can only assume that they catch the light or projections and then are displayed through the glasses, definitely some worth keeping an eye on.

Earlier this week Blizzard was teasing some Summer Games surprise when they sent streamer Laced up Laruen a mysterious package packed with Overwatch goodies and stickers. Then yesterday even more news with a video from Blizzard themselves announcing a whole bundle of new skins, taunts, and other summer games goodies, including a new brawl mode, Lucioball. Which is more soccer with a twist than Rocket League.

Lucioball and goodies will be available for a limited time during the month of August.
