This morning Ubisoft unveiled a new trailer for Far Cry 5, following the build up they’ve  been teasing all week long. This time around players are cast into Hope County, which is definitely a change of scenery considering this is the first game that takes place in the United States. Hopes County looks to give players new skies, rivers, woods and all that the Montana countryside has to offer. The main antagonist of FC5, Jospeh Seed and his fanatical cult followers will be challenging players in this new environment and push them and react to the choices made in the game.

Far Cry 5 is scheduled to release February 27, 2018. We hope to see more details and footage at E3.

No GravatarPlayground Games could have simply felt continent with having the premiere open world racer with Forza Horizon 3. The Australian Outback was a perfect location featuring loads of varied geography, the level of customization from vehicles to online play were insane and the Xbox One exclusive just played sublime regardless of the arcade/sim lean a player wanted.

Makes sense as to why the game till this day retains a 91 percent Metacritic score while selling over 2.5 million units. Instead, developers of the series continue to put the same amount of attention into Forza Horizon 3’s expansions starting with the Blizzard Mountain in late 2016. Despite being a blast drifting through the snow in the latest All-Wheel-Drive vehicles, more conventional vehicles or high priced exotics were pushed to the side (even with the added snow tire option.) Now, Playground has upped the ante and much more through their Hot Wheels expansion.

First, the track design does an amazing job blending the cherished childhood moments of miniature cars racing on plastic winding and twisting orange tracks with the grounded feel that’s made the Forza series so palatable to racing fans.

And, the map is fairly large.

A giant Hot Wheels track on an isolated island also feature hallmarks of the brand. Loops, sharp bends, boost sections, extremely ludicrous jumps specialized cars and even random T-Rex’s make its way into damn near every corner of the map. Also, the track design transitions from dirt road to the pavement in a way similar to the Australian Outback making it feel more entertaining than Blizzard Mountain. This means that there’s enough variety for those who want to drive a suped up Acura Integra, Ferrari 458 or Ford 150 Raptor without feeling out of place. Keeping with the Hot Wheels theme, some races even feature cross sections which only adds to the tension. The track design at times literally seems to rival the over-the-top feel of Mario Kart 8.

The Forza Horizon series has evolved into the best open world racer one can get this generation and always serve as something for those who don’t appreciate the more technical driving nature of Forza Motorsports. With the Hot Wheels expansion, an already fantastic racing experience gets even better.

For a while now we’ve known that AMD’s new flagship GPU, powered by the 14nm Vega architecture, was set to release sometime in the first half of 2017. Tech analysts had suspected a formal announcement at Computex (May 30 – June 3), followed by a release sometime in June, but as it turns out that’s only partially correct.

Last week at a Financial Analyst Day live-stream, AMD revealed its upcoming “Radeon Vega Frontier Edition,” the first formal presentation of a card in the Vega family. However, one thing was quickly made clear: The Vega FE cards are geared at professionals and scientists, featuring a whopping 16GB of HBM2 and a premium price to suit. Vega FE is set to release in June, meeting AMD’s “1H 2017” deadline, but consumer Vega is still a bit off yet.

On May 31, AMD is holding a press conference where they will finally reveal some real details about the upcoming enthusiast RX Vega gaming cards, but unfortunately those will not be coming in June. No release window has been announced just yet, but I’d expect them to start arriving later in Q3 2017.

So what do we know about the gaming-level Vega cards?

Well, we know that the “RX Vega” models will be optimized for gaming performance (a key difference between them and the professional-grade Vega FE) and will come in three tiers: Core, Eclipse, and Nova. Nova, which will be the top-tier of the RX Vega line, could possibly have similarities to the Vega FE, although whether or not it will have 16GB HBM2 will remain to be seen.

With Computex 2017 just around the corner, though, we should know more real soon!

Capcom’s Ultra Street Fighter II launches tomorrow on the Nintendo Switch, but the publisher is not stopping there. Capcom, via the official Monster Hunter twitter account, has revelaed that Monster Hunter XX will receive a Nintendo Switch version

This is a really big deal and the Monster Hunter series was directly responsible for a lot of the success of the 3DS. Hopefully the game finds a big audience on the Switch, although it is almost guaranteed to do so. It is a good move by Capcom and this is the right time to do it.

A new version of Street Fighter IV has been announced for iOS by Capcom. Street Fighter IV Champion Edition will come to mobile phones later this summer

Champion Edition adds Poison, Ibuki, and Dundley to the roster of characters, bringing the total up to 25. Players can fight against AI or online via Wi-Fi. The game is controlled with a four-button virtual pad on screen, which “allows players to execute moves through multiple key combinations and shortcuts,” according to Capcom. The game will also support external controllers and gamepads.

Champion Edition launches this summer, although Capcom has yet to give a firm release date. There’s no word on a price yet, either, but Street Fighter IV currently costs $4 on the iOS App Store. You can pre-register for news about the release of the game here.

This new version is likely coming to iOS due to updates to the operating system rendering older apps unable to continue being supported. It will likely be around the same price if not a dollar or two more, but all in all, this is just a replacement app really. Still it will hopefully be a good experience for those who choose to play it.

Nintendo departed the Brazil market in early January 2015. Games for Nintendo systems have been impossible to get legally for a decent price since hen, but now things are changing.

Coming from Vice Brazil

NC Games, a local importer for games in Brazil, will bring Nintendo games again. The official report comes from a register in the Diário Oficial da União (basically the “Federal Register”), indicating that the games are in the process of age rating and close to get into stores.

The list of the games registered are:

  • 1-2 Switch (Switch)
  • Mario Party Star Rush (3DS)
  • Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon (3DS)
  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Switch)
  • Mario & Luigi Paper Jam (3DS)
  • Fire Emblem Fates Birthright (3DS)
  • Kibry: Planet Robot (3DS)

Other games not listed are Bomberman R and Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers, which NC Games is in negotiation with Konami and Capcom.

But not all the games will be exclusive to be distributed with NC Games. Ubisoft works in Brazil and will be the official distributor for Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle.

They’re still studying the market for prices and expect to put the games into stores costing R$330 to R$400 (US$90+ to US$120). They didn’t talk about the console price.

This is excellent news for Nintendo fans in Brazil. This is a market that could be great for Nintendo and this opens up so many possibilities. Hopefully this foray into Brazil goes better than their previous attempt. Right now, this is a good start.

Baldur’s Gate is a legendary and beloved CRPG series, and one that has recently been remastered by Beamdog. After being asked by a fan on twitter about the possibility of the Baldur’s Gate games coming to the Nintendo Switch, Beamdog responded by saying that is an interesting idea and they will make the suggestion to the team. However, they also said they can make no promises yet.

To have  the series on the Switch would be absolutely amazing. I would hope that not only would these come but also Planescape: Torment. These games would take advantage of the system, especially the touchscreen, which not many games have been using.

Would you want the games on Switch?
