Genyo Takeda has worked at Nintendo for 45 years. He was the hardware director for many systems, and was the director of Punch-Out!, Pilotwings 64 and the Startropics games.

In a document from the recent Nintendo financial briefings, it has emerged that Takeda is retiring from the company. His most recent role was Representative Director and “Technology Fellow” in 2015. Ko Shiota will be taking over Takeda’s role, and this should all be made official following the 77th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on June 29.
