Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has achieved a new victory. It is now the fastest selling game in Mario Kart history. It sold 459000 copies on launch day alone in the US, which broke the record held by Mario Kart Wii with 433, 900 copies on its launch day.. Nintendo even estimated that there is an attach rate of 45%, or in other words, 1 out of every 2 Switch owners have bought the game.
As of the end of March, there were 2.7 million Switch units sold according to Nintendo, however, this doesn’t take into account new Switch purchases, especially ones done alongside the purchase of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
