Freddy was the Last DLC character Revealed at Comic Con by Ed Boon and his team at the Warner Bros/Nether-Realm studios panel. He is seen in his Reboot form and not the Robert Englund original (probably due to copyright issues) an he’s back with a vengeance. He sports his signature claws, and demon powered specials and fatalities made famous by the movies. Here’s a litte info on him in the game and the trailers.

Prince of Fear

A malevolent spirit of the Dream Realm, Freddy Krueger preys on the souls of the living as they sleep. When Shao Kahn began to steal Earthrealm’s souls – souls Freddy considered his own – Freddy battled the emperor in the Dream Realm. But Shao Kahn’s will was too strong. He pulled Freddy into the real world, where he was mortal, and defeated him. A badly injured yet determined Freddy fitted both his hands with demonically enhanced razor gloves. Once he has killed Shao Kahn he will find a way back to the Dream Realm, where he will torment Earthrealm’s souls for eternity.

Ed Boon at Comic Con had told the media and fans of MK that more DLC characters maybe coming if the Demand is high and that if his team is able to do them in time before development on the next MK game begins. There was talk to some early reveals to journalist earlier this year that either Freddy, Jason or Micheal Myers would make it into MK and it appears Freddy won again. They should still release Jason, and Micheal Myers in the game for Halloween and for the new year release a boss pack with Shao Khan, Goro, Kinatro an Mintaro, since they all appear in the game as well as new costume packs with fatalities.

The Season Pass was offered to gamers on XBLA for $12.99 and now the DLC warriors pack is available on PSN for $14.99 for those of you who haven’t played the game in a while or just have been holding off for this kind of a deal, now you have it. Mortal Kombat had sold over a million copies during the 1st month it was launched and continues to do good numbers as well as a tournament at EVO. MK is one of the few fighting games played at Evo and soon at MLG during its 1st year of release. One can only hope for either more DLC or an announcement for the next game, until then let the kombat continue.
