The Switch launched worldwide this past week slowly numbers are coming from the different regions. We know that it broke records in the Americas for Nintendo, but how did it do in Japan?
Bloomberg reporter Yuji Nakamura gave us an answer on Twitter
Switch Japan 1st week sales 313,700
Wii U: 308,600
Wii: 371,900

The system did not reach PS4 or Wii levels, but it is important to remember that the Switch launched outside the holiday season and with a constrained supply. Indeed, the system still managed to sell out and all this combined shows that the Switch has a strong future ahead of itself in Japan.
