Razer has unveiled that they have redesigned the Kraken Pro and Kraken 7.1, marketing them both as Razer Kraken V2 and will be available soon.

The redesign focused on four main parts, durability, microphone, balanced in-game audio, and communications. Razer has improved the audio installing two custom tuned 50 mm drivers. These are larger than in the previous generation, which will bring a wider frequency range balancing between in-game audio and team communications. The Razer Kraken 7.1 V2 will also feature an advanced 7.1 virtual surround sound engine which will allow the gamer to position the audio specific to themselves

Razer’s redesign also focused on balancing the weight distribution and reducing the clamping force. To do this they built the ear cushions larger, softer and better sound isolation. There will be two sets of cushions, one circular and the other oval shaped, so the gamer can personalize to their comfort.

Both of the headsets will feature a unidirectional recording pattern and will be retractable. The Kraken 7.1 V2 has an active noise-cancelling digital microphone activated via Razer Synapse. Razer Synapse features hardware configuration that allows you to save all your settings to the cloud, and optionally track in-game stats and heatmaps.

Last but not least, the headsets are constructed with a new uni-body aluminum frame which is more durable and flexible. Razer states that the headsets have been tested and that they will stand up to the rigor of pro-gaming.
