id® Software and Bethesda Softworks® are pleased to announce that QuakeCon will once again host several charitable organizations at their 2017 event. This year, the American Red Cross, 1UpOnCancer, Dallas Pets Alive!, Extra Life, nonPareil Institute and GameChanger will have a presence at the show, providing attendees with several opportunities to give back to the community.

“We’re honored to host a variety of charities at QuakeCon this year, giving our attendees more opportunities to support a cause that they really connect with,” said Pete Hines, VP of PR and Marketing, Bethesda Softworks. “Seeing the community band together to support these organizations has become one of the highlights of our show.”

QuakeCon 2017, the annual four-day video game festival featuring North America’s largest BYOC (Bring-Your-Own-Computer) LAN Party, will host the charitable organizations at the prestigious Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Dallas, Texas taking place Thursday, August 24 through Sunday, August 27, 2017. This is amazing news. Bethesda, id Software and Quakecon are doing good work by arranging this, so people can give to charities. It is stuff like this that helps give gaming and gamers a good name, despite all the negativity that seems to surround the industry.
