Bethesda has released a new trailer for The Evil Within 2

“It’s all your fault…”

That’s the mantra running through Sebastian Castellanos’ mind. Plagued by memories of the daughter he couldn’t save and a mystery he could never solve, he begins to lose himself in his past mistakes. Sebastian lives out his nightmares every day, unable to pull himself from his downward spiral. Until an old friend-turned-traitor reenters his life with an offer: Return to the nightmare and save your daughter. The Evil Within 2 gives a broken man the chance to make things right and find the peace he so deserves, but he’ll have to go through hell first.

The Evil Within 2 releases worldwide Friday the 13th, October 2017 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

The game is looking intense and will no doubt terrify many players when it releases this October.

Telltale sent out the following

Award-winning developer and publisher of digital entertainment Telltale Games, alongside DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, today announced Batman: The Enemy Within – The Telltale Series, a new five-part, episodic game series that continues Telltale’s unique take on the Caped Crusader. Episode one, ‘The Enigma,’ will be available for download starting August 8th, 2017 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC and Mac, and will become available on iOS and Android-based devices later this year.

The series will also be available at retailers this October for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on a special ‘Season Pass Disc,’ which will include the first episode of the season, as well as download access to all subsequent episodes as they are released through an online connection.
In this latest chapter, both Bruce Wayne and Batman will be forced into precarious new roles. The Riddler has returned to terrorize Gotham City, but his gruesome puzzles merely foreshadow an even greater crisis. With the arrival of a ruthless federal agent and the return of a still nascent Joker, Batman must navigate uneasy alliances while Bruce Wayne undertakes a perilous series of deceptions. Which of Batman’s new allies will you choose to trust? And how deep into the darkness will you let Bruce descend?
This new season will be accessible to both returning fans and newcomers alike, though players’ choices from the first season of Batman: The Telltale Series will optionally carry over into The Enemy Within. This season will also include Telltale’s unique multiplayer ‘Crowd Play’ feature, which allows friends and family to engage with the adventure together by helping to decide the direction of the story from any mobile device with an online connection.
Rendered to look like a living, breathing comic book, Telltale’s vision of Batman features an award-winning cast of talent including Troy Baker, who returns to reprise his role as Bruce Wayne, as well as Anthony Ingruber, who will reprise his fresh take on ‘John Doe,’ better known to fans as The Joker.
Batman: The Enemy Within will be a standalone product separate from the first season of Batman: The Telltale Series and is licensed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and based on DC’s iconic character. The second season will be available for download on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Mac, iOS, and Android-based devices. The series is currently in development and has not yet been rated by the ESRB.
This is great news, and fans of the genre can rejoice knowing they have more coming. If you haven’t checked out any of these games yet, you really should.

The ‘Ultimate’ DOOM – Update 6.66, All DLC Unlocked, Free Weekends
There’s never been a better time to go to Hell.

It’s been just over a year since we released DOOM and it’s thrilling to see not only many of our earliest players still enjoying the game, but also new Slayers joining the fight every day. Whether you’ve been playing for a year, a week or even if you still haven’t Glory Killed your first demon, we’ve got some exciting news for you. This week we’re rolling out the “ultimate” DOOM experience and offering it to new players at a hellishly low price.

Update 6.66

It all starts today with the release of Update 6.66. Like all of our updates, there are a ton of fixes and other improvements across multiplayer and SnapMap that we’ve outlined in our full update notes, but I want to highlight a few of the biggest changes for multiplayer specifically:

All of the Multiplayer DLC Unlocked for All

First, we’ve retired the DOOM season pass and are making all of the multiplayer DLC content available to all players. That’s three multiplayer DLC packs, which include nine of our best maps, three additional guns, three additional playable demons, new equipment, armor sets and more. That’s on top of the modes and features, like bot support, that players have been enjoying since late last year.

A Completely Revised Multiplayer Progression System

With this update, we’ve changed when and how players unlock additional guns, demons, equipment and all of the player and weapon customization options. Instead of relying on the current random unlock system, everything now unlocks through specific leveling requirements and/or in-game challenges. Now, if there’s a specific helmet you want, you can work toward unlocking it by focusing your play style on the related challenge. We’re confident new and veteran players alike will enjoy the control and predictability in this new multiplayer progression system.

For our veteran players, we know you’ve been unlocking items through both the original random progression system and/or via DLC purchase. We want to ensure everyone has the opportunity to both retain previously unlocked items if they choose, but also unlock anything they don’t have through the new level- and challenge-based progression. To do this we will be resetting all veteran players to level 0. Don’t panic, though – that’s just your level. All veteran players will have the option to completely reset their unlock progression items and experience the new progression system fresh, OR retain all of their existing guns, equipment, demons and customization unlocks that they’ve acquired or purchased and then unlock the remaining items through the revised progression system. Regardless of whether you keep your gear or choose to re-earn it, we’re giving all veteran players a special badge recognizing their previous experience in the game. For those elite few who have achieved the max Slayer level, we’ve designated a special Slayer badge for you.

A New Runes System, Better Player Information, Revised User Interface

On the gameplay front, we’ve replaced the Hack Module System with an all-new Runes System. Much like the Runes system from the DOOM campaign, multiplayer Runes are now persistent player abilities earned and included in a player loadout. Unlike the previous Hack Modules, Runes do not need to be activated and do not expire. Runes are persistent capabilities (or perks) that become a consistent and predictable component of your loadout and play style.

We’ve also overhauled most of the in-game HUD, including better callouts for challenges, awards and scoring. The kill card has been completely revised to provide players a more clear and accurate account of their demise, including not just who killed them but also the players, weapon types and damage that combined to kill them.

Players will also discover numerous improvements throughout the menus and user interface, including completely revised post-match summaries as well as updates that better illustrate player status in lobbies, highlight the new progression options and status, and better outline weapon, equipment and demon characteristics.

Free Weekends

If you’re someone who just hasn’t tried DOOM yet, we’re giving you the ultimate opportunity to try out one of the most talked about games of 2016. Starting at 12:00 pm ET on Thursday, July 20, on Xbox One, 1pm ET on Thursday, July 20 on PC, and 12:00 pm ET on Thursday, July 27 on PlayStation 4, you can try DOOM for free. Blast hordes of demons in the first two levels of DOOM’s critically acclaimed campaign, then ratchet up the intensity by going for a high-score in Arcade Mode. Plus, you’ll also have unlimited access to DOOM’s multiplayer and SnapMap modes for the duration of the weekend. If you choose to purchase during the free weekend, all of your progress in campaign and multiplayer is saved and you’ll continue right from where you left off.

An Ultimate Price

Lastly, we don’t want anything standing in your way of joining the millions of people that have experienced the rush and pure fun of DOOM, so not only are we giving you a chance to try it during a free weekend – if you like it, we’re offering it for $14.99 (US) / £11.99 (UK) / $17.99 (AUS) (digital purchase only). That’s the award-winning campaign, arcade mode, all of the DLC, countless hours of SnapMap and the right to say you are a badass, rip-and-tear DOOM Slayer – all for just $14.99 (US) / £11.99 (UK) / $17.99 (AUS).

As always, thanks to everyone for your incredible support. We hope that whether you’re a long-time Slayer, trying the game during a free weekend, or you’re purchasing it for the first time, you find something you love in DOOM.

This is amazing news, and just makes this game even more awesome. DOOM is one of the best FPS games ever made, and more should try it. If you haven’t tried it yet, you really should. If you haven’t seen our review yet, you can see it here and a 2nd review here.

Samurai Shodown V Special is one of the most well-regarded SNK fighting games among the fighting game community. It is easily one of the most balanced games in the series and features both brand-new systems and an extra layer of polish on already existing mechanics. The game is designed to place emphasis on the qualities that are unique to the Samurai Shodown series. With much less of a focus on combos and supers, victory in Samurai Shodown V Special at high level play will usually come down to using range and spacing to your advantage.

There are a variety of systems and mechanics that have contributed to the game becoming a favorite among hardcore fighting game fans. Here is a quick rundown of some of the most important systems:

Sword Gauge: A meter that directly affects how much damage you do. Any attack—even whiffs or blocked attacks—reduces the meter and the amount of damage you can do. It slowly regenerates to maximum when you are not attacking.

Rage Gauge: A staple in the Samurai Shodown series. Taking damage fills this meter and once at max it results in increased attack power along with other bonuses. A Rage Explosion command can also be used which can be used to push back your opponent and open up other possibilities.

Weapon Flipping Attack: The super special move of Samurai Shodown V Special. It can be used while the Rage Gauge is at max or during a Rage Explosion. The move will both deal significant damage to the opponent and disarm them.

Concentration One: Only usable under certain conditions, this move will result in your opponent going into slow motion while you move at normal speed. Combined with the damaging Fatal Flash command that can only be used in this state, this command is perfect for staging last minute come-backs.

Overkill Moves: These are ultimate moves that can only be used once during a match against an opponent who is already on the ropes. Landing this move will result in your character executing the opponent with a brutal, visceral secret technique.

The PS4 / PS Vita Release

As with all of our collaborations with Code Mystics, this release will feature new content such as online multiplayer, a Gallery mode with unlockable art, and trophy support. This will be the first time the game has been available in its original form on a modern console. And we are happy to announce that we will be showing a playable beta of the game at our booth during EVO 2017!

We hope all of our fans attending the event stop by to try out the game and give us their feedback!

A true samurai fights with dignity and honor.

But that doesn’t mean you have to.

This is excellent news, and following the release of Garou on PS4 and Vita, this author is extremely excited about this news.  The game is one of SNK’s best and the fact that it is getting such a good re-release should have many happy.

Will you be getting this? This author will!

EA sent out the following

Last month, EA SPORTS NHL fans got a first taste of what’s to come for NHL 18 this year at the NHL Awards. Now, NHL 18 is diving deeper into the all-new on-ice gameplay features that are designed to deliver the speed, skill and creativity of today’s young new NHL.

Check out the new Gameplay Features Trailer and look out for specific features deep-dives on the EA SPORTS NHL website.

NHL 18 is upping player’s game on both sides of the puck with Creative Attack controls and an all-new Defensive Skill Stick. Creative Attack gives players the moves to execute Top 10-worthy offensive plays, inspired by what’s being seen in the new NHL. Players can implement one-handed dekes, between-the-legs shots and passes and much more. On defense, NHL 18 introduces the new Defensive Skill Stick, giving defensive players the tools to counter the new skill moves with extended poke checks, targeted stick control, and stick-sweeping to cover a zone.

Players won’t be the only ones using these controls though, as the new Creative Teammate AI leverages all the same deking and passing tools to give opponents a true run for their money. AI Teammates will create smarter plays, leading to more effective moves up and down the ice.

Finally, authentic 3-on-3 matches in EA SPORTS Hockey League introduce a whole new arena with more open ice and risk-vs-reward strategic gameplay.

In addition to gameplay, EA SPORTS NHL today released a full look at the new Adidas jerseys coming to the NHL in the 2017-18 season. See all the new jerseys here.

Sega sent out the following

That’s right, you can now digitally pre-order Yakuza Kiwami. Like, right this second now! If you choose to go the digital route, we’ve got a little something extra for you to enjoy before you hop back to where it all began to bash some gangster skulls. It’s a free theme that features some familiar stone-faced Yakuza bros! The boys mean business, so what better way to represent the streets of Kamurocho than by having Kazuma Kiryu and Akira Nishikiyama hang out in the background of your PS4 menu? Check out some screenshots of the theme below!
Yakuza Kiwami Features:
  • A Family Patriarch’s Ransom of New Content – “Kiwami” literally translates to “extreme,” and the game was named that for good reason. Not just a simple graphical upgrade, Kiwami adds nearly 30 minutes of cutscenes alone, providing all-new insight into the game’s plot and creating common threads with series prequel Yakuza 0. There’s also added distractions (Pocket Circuit car racing, MesuKing: Battle Bug Beauties, new hostesses, and more), side quests, combat updates, re-recorded Japanese dialogue, and more to bring the original Yakuza game into the latest console generation.
  • A Place for Newcomers and Veterans – Yakuza Kiwami is the ultimate bridge in the series: newcomers or those whose Yakuza experience started with Yakuza 0 will have familiar, exacting controls, top-notch SEGA localization, and a solid starting point for entering the Yakuza franchise fresh. Veterans will experience a familiar Kamurocho and plot, but with new levels of story depth and graphical polish.
  • But it was me! Majima! – Completely new to Kiwami is the “Majima Everywhere” system, where the series’ deranged, one-eyed maniac will constantly surprise and challenge Kiryu to combat when he least expects it. We’re talking “popping out of a goofy costume” levels of surprise, so players must stay on their toes and be ready to defend themselves from Kiryu’s chief rival.
  • Extreme Revitalization – Kiwami is rebuilt from the ground up with all new HD assets, exclusive Japanese voice audio re-recorded by the series cast, and more; optimized for the PlayStation 4 and running in 1080p/60fps. And following suit with SEGA’s commitment to the Yakuza series, the game will release in both physical and digital formats in the west.
Yakuza Kiwami will be released on PlayStation 4 physically and digitally on Aug. 29 for $29.99 (with commensurate European pricing). In addition to Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami provides an excellent starting point for those who have always heard about the series but have yet to try it. It preserves the charm of old-school, PS2-era beat-em-up gameplay, but deftly combines it with a hard-boiled crime drama punctuated with the liveliness of Kamurocho – the fictional red-light district of Tokyo the game is set in – and all the distractions that a red-light district can offer. The game is rated M by the ESRB. For more information about Yakuza Kiwami and the Yakuza series, please visit yakuza.sega.com/kiwami.
