No GravatarAdult Swim just announced through their commercial bumps that the anime One Piece is will soon be airing on Toonami. The bump was pretty vague as to when it will air just offering “soon” as a time table. I for one am pretty happy One Piece will find its way back on American television, and presumably uncut. One Piece is constantly one of Japan’s top rated anime and manga. The first attempt to dub One Piece was done by 4Kids and many would agree that it was pretty awful. Since then, Funimation has re-dubbed it and has even gotten the creator’s approval on the main cast’s voice actors.

Funimation’s latest DVD release of the show is at episode 252 and Japan is currently on episode 588. rumor has it that when One Piece begins to air, it may not start from the very beginning. One Piece did get to episode 167 back when Funimation originally aired it edited when Toonami was still geared towards a younger audience. Chances are it could pick up from there airing uncut but as of now there is no official word. One Piece will air “soon” so catch it when it does. Only Toonami

No GravatarHello everyone this is GovPancakes with Real Otaku Gamer here to bring you new anime to watch. This time its an anime called Blue Gender. Now you may not of heard of it because its a older anime. The Genre is Action/Mecha, now before i start a lot of people go “oh man it has mechs in it I don’t wanna watch that”. Stop it. This anime isn’t focused on the mechs its focused on the people.

The anime starts off with a Recovery team trying to recover these people called sleepers (humans that were put into a cryogenic stasis because of an unknown disease). The main character Yuji, just happens to be one. He gets forced awake into a time where humans (not all but a mass amount) have been pushed into space to live on a space port called Second Earth by these Bug-like Creatures called The Blue. The Blue are a special kind of bug that can eat organic and inorganic objects…so basically everything. They only have one weakness which is their “core”, which later in the anime becomes an issue.

Yuji joins the recovery team and their second in command Marlene, who’s job is to transport Yuji to Second Earth. Reality hits him that time has definitely changed since he was in stasis that all that he knows is gone. The humans of this time are a lot more heartless and act completely different from his time.

Now what makes this anime good is how realistic it is. Its really raunchy and gory, sex scenes, blood in about every episode, swearing, but its not over the top. The people are completely heartless just like The Blue are. Its an amazing story about survival. The action is amazing and realistic. If someone looks like they are about to die then they probably are. The relationship between characters is also a factor in the battles which adds to the story. The art style for its time was great and its still good now. The voices aren’t bad and the music is sub par at best.

In conclusion I say if you liked Starship Troopers give it a shot. It has almost the same focus but its not funny, and a lot more serious. Amazing anime that I give a 8/10

No Gravatar has let loose that today Saturday May 26th. They have set up a tweet box with the auto-tweet #ToonamiBackB#### and have recently released a schedule for Toonami Rebirth and the shows are as follows.
Rebirth 2012 Schedule on Adult Swim
12:00AM – Bleach
12:30AM – Deadman Wonderland
1:00AM – Casshern Sins
1:30AM – Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood
2:00AM – Ghost in the Shell: SAC 2nd GIG
2:30AM – Cowboy Bebop

It is safe to say that Toonami is playing it safe when it comes to Toonami because many of the shows that where originally aired are now on the competitions networks and as you can see by the time frames are very very late night even for a Saturday night. I think Cartoon Network wants to see if they can put faith in tooonami so go out and watch it. There are only to new shows on the bill Casshern Sins and Deadman Wonderland, so in order for the network to move you will have to watch and tell your friends as well if you want to see Tom and his gang fly through space.

In other news The Boondocks gang Huey, Riley and Granddad are back for season 4 of the critically acclaimed and controversial cartoon was though over at the end of the last season in 2010 do to the disputes with Series Creator Aaron McGruder and Sony (who distributed the show world wide) and (SPOILER WARNING) the last season ended with Huey becoming a nation terrorist so it will be interesting to see what will happen in the new Season.

So what was your favorite era of Toonami? What is your favorite season or episode the boondocks?
