This morning’s Nintendo Direct featured a surprising reveal that showed off a brand new collaboration effort between the Big N and Techmo Koei. Hyrule Warriors is a beat-em-up title in the same vein as the Dynasty Warriors series but is set in the universe of The Legend of Zelda. Featuring a brand new Link sporting some flavor from Twilight Princess along some exclusive changes to his overall look. Various enemies include Moblins and Lizalfos from Skyward Sword and the King Dodongo from Ocarina of Time.
Link himself is seen using powerful attacks such as the Skyward Strike, Great and Hurricane Spin attacks, and the Quake Strike but in far greater magnitudes then in any other Zelda title. Link is also shown to be fighting alongside knights of Hyrule against the great hordes of monsters in this epic title. Satoru Iwata has stressed that this IS NOT the next installment of Main Legend of Zelda series. It is unknown if this game will take place in the mothership chronology or will be an escort title in the same capacity of Link’s Crossbow Training. Nevertheless this title looks to impress and I am eager to hear more about this captivating title.
Hyrule Warriors (Working Title) is slated to release sometime in 2014.
