Billy Mitchell has not had a good last few months after it came to light that many of his scores were fraudulent. It seems that Mitchell wont let things go, as in April 2019, he filed suit against Twin Galaxies for “defamation of character” His lawyers say the statements by Twin Galaxies are “libelous in its face” because it “asserts that Mitchell did not achieve his record scores legitimately.” They are trying to claim that the investigation was “pre-ordained” and “intent on generating publicity and internet ‘clicks’ by accusing Mitchell, the most visible of all video gamers, of cheating.”  Furthermore, the suit also mentions Twin Galaxies did not contact “key witnesses” and fact-check information, whomever they may be.

Of course, others have since come forward to claim Mitchell coerced them to be sign statements saying they cleared him and has issued DMCA takedowns on videos criticizing him. As such, this will be interesting to see in court.
