Atlus USA’s Catherine is one of the more unusual releases seen in North America in a long time. Today, the Japanese publisher announced both pre-order bonuses and a special edition for the North American release of the anticipated puzzler.
The “Love Is Over” edition will offer Americans the kind of extras usually only seen in Japan: a set of protagonist Vincent’s polka-dot boxer shorts, the “Empty Hearts” T-shirt worn by Catherine, a pillowcase featuring a lingerie-clad Catherine, and a “Stray Sheep” pizza box, which is from one of the in-game locations. The boxers and T-shirt will be in men’s large sizes. According to Atlus, the “Love Is Over” Edition will be available only in extremely limited quantities. Additionally, for pre-ordering either the “Love Is Over” edition or the standard edition, Atlus is offering a full-color art book and a soundtrack CD.
Catherine is slated for a North American release of July 26th and will be available for both PS3 and Xbox 360. The standard edition is expected to retail for the regular $59.99 + tax, while the “Love Is Over” edition will retail for $79.99.
