Ed Annuziata, the creator of Ecco the Dolphin, other games for Sega, has made it clear for years that he wants to revive the Ecco series. After bad luck with Sega and crowdfunding, he may have found someone else to help him.
He posted the following on twitter.

Could this be a revival of the series at Nintendo? A spiritual sequel of sorts? We will have to wait and see. For all we know, this is just a visit and nothing more. Still, given his desire to revive the series, and Nintendo’s desire to reach out to older generations of gamers, this could be something.
