MANOS: The Hands of Fate is now seeing its mobile versions for iOS and Android discontinued. The game, based on the cult film noted for being one of the worst movies ever made, was designed as an homage to licensed NES games and did its job well.

The reason for the discontinuation is not due to rights issues but simply due to changes in mobile devices, rendering the versions outdated and incompatible. That being said, the game remains available on Steam for anyone to buy.

Developer FreakZone Games said the following

Reasoning: Mobile phones are changing fast and MANOS was built with the 3:2 iPhone 4 in mind, the levels will have to be totally redesigned to work on modern phones and I don’t wanna leave something available for sale when it’s useless on modern devices.

FreakZone also noted that while it is possible to port over the new PC version that will be time intensive and there simply is not demand for it on mobile at this time.

The game is a good one, and if you haven’t our review of the steam version, it can be seen here.
