Here is some very unexpected news. The new SNES fighting game Unholy Night, made by ex-SNK devs, who worked on King of Fighters and Samurai Shodown is coming to the west. It can even be preordered online right now via amazon.com. The game is being published by Retroism, which is nice to hear.

Here is the product description

Unholy Night: The Darkness Hunter is a one-on-one SNES 2D fighting game developed by a team of ex-SNK staffers who had previously worked on the Samurai Shodown and The King of Fighters series. The game story revolves around a group of monster hunters who have dedicated their lives to exterminating vampires, werewolves, and other creatures of the night. Each unique fighter has eight special moves for the player to master as well as super moves that makes use of a three-level meter. When the fighter’s health is low, he/she gains bonuses similar to desperation moves from older arcade fighting games.

This is great news for retro fans and fans of fighting games. Will you be checking this out? I definitely will!

The game releases on June 19.
