  1. Agree on both points.

    Although I lean more heavily towards Sony, I can’t see Microsoft pulling out of the industry now. The Xbox division is finally turning some serious profits; the 360 is having its best year ever in sales, and Xbox Live is practically a money-printing license. After running losses all these years, why would MS want to quit now when they’re actually doing well? That doesn’t make sense.

    Square Enix is likewise still one of the most profitable video game companies in the world. I’m looking forward to vXIII, and I’m enjoying the heck out of Dragon Quest VI, which is selling better than the two previous games in the US. If they’re doomed, the whole industry doesn’t have long to live.

    Riiiight.
