In news that many will not be happy to hear, PSN purchases will start to be taxed on April 1. PlayStation sent out this message via email.
This will be taxed on a state by state, county by county basis. Furthermore, it isn’t clear if this is only in the US or the rest of North America or even the rest of the world. It seems like they will be going by local laws, so it will be in your best interest to find out what the law is in your area to know what taxes you will be paying. This mostly will likely affect how people making purchases on PSN, but Sony is just doing this to comply with the law and not as a cash grab themselves.
