Nintendo has disclosed some information from NPD about their sales in April and the data is very interesting.

The  Switch was the best-selling gaming hardware in the U.S. in April with more than 280,000 units sold. This is the second month in a row that Switch was the best selling system in America, even with a constrained supply. Nintendo further  stated

“April sales of Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo 3DS family of systems (more than 68,000 units sold) combined to make up almost half of all hardware sales across all dedicated video game systems.”

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe also did well, with 460,000 copies at retail, or 550,000 copies when factoring in digital sales. This is only counting two days of sales for the game, as the cutoff date was April 29th for NPD tracking.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild  was the third-highest-selling game in April, continuing that game’s triumphant run. Nintendo then noted that “1-2-Switch and digital-only game Snipperclips – Cut it out, together! also saw strong sales in April.”
