Bigmoon Entertainment and Deep Silver  announced a global distribution and co-publishing agreement for DAKAR 18. The cross-country rally racing game is aiming to be one of the biggest open worlds ever made in a racing game, coming to PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One, the all-in-one entertainment system from Microsoft, and PC platforms in 2018. Based on the world famous annual rally raid organized by Amaury Sport Organisation (A.S.O.) in South America, DAKAR 18 is a realistic simulation of the biggest cross-country rally in the world and features a variety of vehicles, including motorcycles, cars, trucks, quads and SxS. Players will compete in fierce online multiplayer battles as well as playing offline to harness and grow racing skills.

“We are proud to be partnering with A.S.O and Deep Silver in order to bring a truly realistic Dakar racing experience to players worldwide,” said Paulo J. Games, game director of Bigmoon Entertainment. “As the official developer of the project, we are sure that DAKAR 18 will be the finest representation of real life Dakar in a video game.”

Dakar Rally is known as the biggest cross-country rally, and in order to authentically simulate the event’s scope and challenge, Bigmoon decided to create one of the biggest open worlds ever made in a racing simulation. DAKAR 18 is focused on realism and promises stunning visuals, which faithfully represent every vehicle and pilot of the Dakar 2018 rally. The game includes the major official Dakar manufacture teams, vehicles and pilots, the five racing class categories (cars, bikes, trucks, quads and SxS) and much more. In addition, the game will feature a single player, online and offline multiplayer experience.

Klemens Kundratitz, CEO of Deep Silver states, “We are delighted to work with Bigmoon Entertainment on this promising title and look forward to bringing all our expertise to the project; beyond that we look forward together to establishing the Dakar franchise in the racing community.”

“Dakar will not be a two-week adventure anymore, the fans will have the opportunity to live it all year long by playing at this new game,” said Marc Coma, sporting director of Dakar.

More information about DAKAR 18 can be found at https://www.facebook.com/dakarthegame. Information about the Dakar Rally is available here: http://www.dakar.com.

Street Fighter V was a highly anticipated game that ended up having a rough couple of years. The game launched with barebones content, and while more and more was gradually added, it never reached the heights of great Street Fighter games past. Capcom has taken steps to address this and now the game has undergone a massive relaunch as Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition. But is this a welcome change, or is it too late?

Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition certainly lives up to its name. One of the biggest criticisms of Street Fighter V at launch ( and for years) was that it lacked an arcade mode of any kind. In fact, it lacked virtually anything for players who were not interested in only playing online. There was mini story modes, and a full story mode was added later, but aside from very miniscule endurance modes, there was nothing for players offline. Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition changes all of this by adding arcade mode and several more features.

First, let me talk about Arcade Mode. Arcade mode is arranged by game, so you will take on characters in relation to the game they appeared in. This is a fun trip down memory lane and also serves to add a new type of arcade mode experience. There have been different types of arcade ladder variations before, but not quite like this. It feels like Capcom truly wanted to make sure there was enough single player content in this mode to keep everyone happy, and with the set up and variety, I think they did well. There are also new challenges and other single player modes to try out, and there are some interesting surprises here. Its not as extensive as say, a Netherrealm fighting game, but its far above what Street Fighter V was before, which again was extremely minimal.

There have also been a variety of changes to the gameplay. New expansions of moves and abilities, compliment the action along with improved visuals. It isn’t a feast for the eyes so much as a polishing of what was once dusted and muddied.  I do also like the addition of Team Battle Mode, and I like it because Street Fighter is now stepping out of its comfort zone. Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition feels less like an apology addition as some called it, more as a rebirth of not only Street Fighter V specifically, but Street Fighter the series in general. The online has been expanded, the characters expanded, and so on. yes this feels like what Street Fighter V should have been at launch, but it is also clear that Capcom took the criticism ( and lack of sales) to heart. I had abandoned playing Street Fighter V early on, but now I am happy to come back and play again. I did not think it possible, but Capcom managed to win me back over. I say give this a go, because if you give them the chance, and they will win you back over as well!

Immortal Redneck, the Egyptian-themed first-person shooter with roguelike elements, will rocket onto Xbox One and PlayStation 4 with PlayStation 4 Pro-enhanced graphics and framerate on Feb. 27, 2018. A Nintendo Switch version is also planned for a Q1 2018 release.

When our titular Redneck wrecks his dune buggy in the sun-bleached sands of Egypt, he wakes to find himself mummified. Now he’s got a hankerin’ to find out who wrapped him up, and old-school arcade first-person shooting, a healthy arsenal, and the blessings of ancient gods are the only boons on his quest.

The Redneck’s answers lie in the Great Pyramids of Giza. These ancient wonders are protected by an army of monsters that can send our hillbilly back to the grave and restructure the pyramids’ labyrinthine halls. Players can attempt to uncover the secrets of the pyramids through the standard mode, or try to best their own personal record in the Infinite Tower mode, where endless floors await.

The Redneck will have to frantically blast, circle strafe, and bunny-hop around Egyptian warriors and sarcophagi, and he’s going to have fun doing it. Except for when he dies…again. And again. But a silly little thing like death is not the end in Immortal Redneck. With the power of resurrection, gold earned in one life can be used to unlock permanent upgrades from a persistent skill tree, such as health and damage bonuses, or new favors from the gods.

With more than 50 weapons to find, ranging from traditional to futuristic and fantastical, no run plays quite like the next. Each attempt is further shaken up by over 100 Scroll Modifiers that enemies drop that can help or harm in various degrees. Players might find a Metamorphosis Scroll with a chance to turn opponents into chickens, or the Sorry, Not Sorry scroll that swaps out all weapons for random new ones.

Each of the nine favors from the gods provides the Redneck with different starting weapons and abilities. Seth, the God of Storms, begins with a Taser Sword, Tesla Coil, and Electric Flamethrower, which allow him to throw electric balls as his active ability. Neith, the Goddess of Hunting, can send a falcon to attack her enemies while also using a Sniper Rifle and Tranquilizer Gun. It doesn’t hurt to have a god on your side when mummies need a beating.

“Immortal Redneck has been a wonderful success on Steam and we look forward to bringing the fun to consoles,” said Guillermo Andrades, Co-Founder, Crema. “Look out for our fusion of classic FPS and roguelike when it hits PS4 and Xbox next February, with the Nintendo Switch port following closely behind.”

Immortal Redneck will be available on Feb. 27, 2018 in English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Polish, and Korean for $19.99 USD, €19.99, £16.24.

For more information please explore Immortal Redneck’s official site.

This past week saw the announcement of SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy  during the Nintendo Direct Mini. However, there was some controversy over mention of one button moves as well as the fact that that the Japanese trailer showed off more revealing outfits for fanservice. This led some to be concerned  tgarthe game will be censored in the west and that it would be too simple a game to be a good fighter.

In response, NISA has stepped in to assure fans that the situation is not as feared.

Hopefully this clears up any worry.
