Puzzle games are here to stay.  These games went from physical form to digital thanks to video games and the advancements of technology. Now here we have another contender: Spiral Splatter is a game that requires you not only quick thinking and reflexes but also good hand-eye coordination.

The objective in Spiral Splatter is simple: get from the start to the goal as fast as possible.  However, this is easier said than done. In the first set of levels, it is relatively easy since they are pretty straightforward.  As you progress through, you find yourself with obstacles in your way, be it rotating maze, barriers that can be temporally disabled, or turrets that shoot you.  The play also must take special care to avoid touching the sides or else he or she will have to start from the beginning of the level.

Luckily, some of these obstacles are not in the beginning, so you can take your time to work your way through the 100+ levels. Speaking of taking your time, you can take things easy until you get the hang of it, but that won’t get you very far in terms of unlocking the next levels since the Stars you gain in each one are needed to unlock the next level. The controls are simple, you move with the stick and use the A button to accelerate the speed of your ball.  However, speed is not always the best choice unless you have godlike reactions, and if you feel that you have failed a lot press X and you can refresh the level.

The colors on each of the stages and chill music help to create a relaxing and engaging experience, and bottom line: Spiral Splatter is a cute, fun puzzle game that can help you develop your hand-eye coordination.  With soft tunes and fun and simple game play, it’s a game that no puzzle fan should miss.  The $4.99 price is fair for its 100+ levels, and I can recommend it if you are a gamer on a budget and looking for something to pass the time.
