Tomonobu Itagak was the top name at Team Ninja for years and oversaw the reboot of Ninja Gaiden and series like Dead or Alive before departing Koei Tecmo.
In an interview with Dextero, Itagaki was asked about his thoughts on the idea of Ryu Hayabusa joining Smash Bros. Ultimate.
In response, he said the following
“Super Smash Bros is a very popular game. I think it’s a stage big enough for Ryu Hayabusa to play an active role.”
