According to The Wall Street Journal, The Legend of Zelda will be headed to mobile in the future. Following the great successes of Pokemon GO and Super Mario Run this may come as little surprise, but it’s certainly awesome to hear nonetheless! The game will reportedly come after the release of Nintendo’s Animal Crossing mobile game, which will reportedly release in the second half of 2017, leading many to believe The Legend of Zelda title will release in early 2018. There’s no word on what the game will be, and while a port of a classic LoZ title would be amazing (A Link to the Past please!),  so far all of Nintendo’s games have been original titles. There’s also no word on whether this game will be free to play (like Pokemon GO or Miitomo) or not (Super Mario Run had a hefty $10 price tag for full admission!).

The timing of the news is certainly interesting with E3 beginning in less than a month (June 13-15). 2016’s E3 included news from Bethesda concerning their mobile game Fallout Shelter coming to PC, so E3 mobile game news wouldn’t be unheard of. The speculation on what the Zelda title may be is perhaps even more fun than the game will be itself, with TechRadar detailing some great possibilities including a cooking game, puzzle game and an online multiplayer title in the vein of Phantom Hourglass on the Nintendo DS.

Whatever it may end up being, one thing is for sure – it’s an exciting time to be a Nintendo fan!

InnoGames sent out the following

Berlin & Hamburg, February 23, 2017. Wooga and InnoGames are pleased to announce the sale and transfer of mobile strategy title Warlords from Wooga to the Hamburg-based online games provider, InnoGames. Going forward, a team at InnoGames will continue development and enrich the game with their strong knowledge of the strategy genre. No employees will change company as part of the agreement

The deal reflects Wooga’s 2016 decision to double down and focus on casual mobile genres, while for InnoGames the acquisition of Warlords represents an addition to an already strong strategy game portfolio and the focus on mobile-only titles in the future.

“Warlords was very well received by players and press at launch and the team at Wooga is happy to see the game continue under the stewardship of InnoGames. The agreement also further reflects Wooga’s commitment and focus on producing the very best casual mobile experiences,” said Jens Begemann, Wooga Founder & CEO.

Armin Busen, CPO at InnoGames: “Warlords is a fantastic game with an enthusiastic fan base and we’re more than happy to get the chance to acquire it. The game represents a very good fit to our overall games portfolio and is another important step in our transition to mobile. Our dedicated team will make sure to add new features and improve the general game experience, so Warlords fans can look forward to the relaunch of the game.”

Existing Warlords accounts won’t be affected by the transfer nor will they lose any game progression.

I have to admit, I am not very familiar with this game. That said, it looks to remain in good hands with an IP holder who will do right by it. I may have to give this one a look.

No GravatarNew Pokemon are coming to the world of Pokemon Go as announced by Niantic.

Game Update Welcomes Pokémon Originally Discovered in the Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver Video Games and Introduces Updated Encounter Gameplay, Evolution Options, New Berries and Expanded Avatar Items
San Francisco—Feb. 15, 2017—Niantic, Inc. and The Pokémon Company International announced an additional 80 Pokémon will begin to appear in Pokémon GO later this week. These include Pokémon originally discovered in the Johto region from the Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver video games, including Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile. Trainers will encounter these Pokémon “in the wild” as they embark on adventures and explore their neighborhoods and cities to catch Pokémon. In addition to Pokémon that will appear in the game for the first time, the latest update introduces new gameplay mechanics for Trainers to master, including new encounter gameplay, new Evolution items, two new Berries, and expanded outfit and accessory options for their Trainer avatars.

“Today is a momentous occasion for Pokémon GO as we welcome more Pokémon and build upon the encounter and capture mechanics for the passionate global community of Trainers playing the game,” said John Hanke, founder and Chief Executive Officer, Niantic, Inc. “Pokémon GO is a live experience which we’ll be continuing to support and evolve in new and interesting ways for years to come.”

“With Pokémon GO, The Pokémon Company endeavored to create a compelling game based on the concept of encountering and catching Pokémon in the real world,” said J.C. Smith, Senior Director, Consumer Marketing, The Pokémon Company International. “The amazing response to Pokémon GO by millions of existing and new Pokémon fans around the world is remarkable. We’re thrilled to keep the adventure going by welcoming these Pokémon to this engaging new way of experiencing the fun of the Pokémon brand.”

With the latest Pokémon GO game update, new Pokémon evolution options will give players the ability to use new Evolution items to evolve their Pokémon into ones that were originally discovered in the Johto region. While catching Pokémon, Trainers can use two new Berries—the Nanab Berry, which slows a Pokémon’s movements, and the Pinap Berry, which doubles the amount of Candy received if the next catch attempt succeeds. Trainers will also be able to customize their avatar’s appearance with a new selection of hats, shirts, pants, and other items. Additional items will be available for purchase from the in-game Pokémon GO shop.

Trainers can download Pokémon GO from the App Store for iOS devices and Google Play Store for Android. A version of Pokémon GO for Apple Watch is also available through the App Store. Nintendo’s Pokémon GO Plus device, which allows Trainers to catch Pokémon and collect items with the push of a button without looking at their screens, is being replenished at retail locations in support of this latest update, while supplies last.

This is a big addition to Pokémon Go and may even cause the game to get a second lease on life. This has me very interested, and now I wonder what next they will bring. Are you excited for this? Will you resume playing if you had stopped?

Annapurna Interactive, the publisher of Gorogoa, has released a new trailer for the upcoming game.

Designed, developed, and illustrated by Jason Roberts, Gorogoa is a beautifully hand-drawn story suspended inside a puzzle with a completely unique mechanic. Move illustrated, animated panels around on a grid, similar to arranging framed drawings on a wall. When two drawings are correctly stacked or aligned, they fuse together to form a new scene that may be navigated as though it were a 3D space and further advance the story.

This game looks incredible. I personally cannot wait to find out more about it and I think this will be a standout game. Puzzle games fascinate me to no end, so this looks fight up my alley. See the trailer below.
