The Station, a first-person sci-fi mystery, will launch for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Windows, Mac and Linux on Feb. 20, 2018.
Developed by a team of AAA veterans, including Dave Fracchia, former Studio Head at Activision subsidiary Radical Entertainment, the Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning designer Les Nelkin, and BioShock Infinite and League of Legends composer Duncan Watt, The Station will take players across the universe and aboard a spacecraft orbiting a vicious alien world.
In the distant future the Espial Space Station, the most advanced spacecraft to explore beyond our atmosphere, monitors the alien planet of Psy-Prime. A small research crew of our best and brightest study the locals and evaluate the prospect of cohabitation. Soon after learning the intelligent natives are embroiled in perpetual savage war, Espial’s cloaking and communication arrays suddenly go offline and never return.
Players are dispatched to investigate the mysterious circumstances. Upon arrival, much of Espial is without power and the crew have mysteriously vanished.
Only by using intuitive problem solving to restore function to the ship’s core systems and keen observation of the digital logs of the missing team, all while dealing with the constant tension of whatever happened aboard The Espial reoccurring, can the player unravel the mystery behind the crew’s sudden disappearance.
Navigating the sleek facility presents a “Progressive Sci-Fi” style evoking an optimistic view of space exploration, while the contemporary ambient soundtrack elicits isolating and unnerving emotions. With The Station, the development team strives to provide the new benchmark for atmospheric narratives.
“Our goal is to challenge what people expect from atmospheric mysteries,” said Dave Fracchia, Executive Producer, The Station. “By abandoning player-driven dialogue we are able to replicate the emptiness and loneliness of space, while still enthralling with a pressure-packed mystery.”
The Station will release in English and retail for $14.99 / £14.99.
For more information visit the official website, go deeper into the lore at Explore Axiom, or visit Steam.

This is a truly interesting looking game. We will be covering this more in the future so stay tuned.

Zenimax Online Studios has revealed details on the first major update of 2018 for The Elder Scrolls Online – a two-dungeon DLC Game Pack called Dragon Bones, and Update 17, a free addition for everyone which includes a slew of new features and upgrades that make ESO better than ever. Dragon Bones and Update 17 are expected to launch in February.

The Dragon Bones DLC Game Pack will include two new dungeons – Scalecaller Peak and Fang Lair — available in both normal and veteran modes, with a veteran Hard Mode for each final boss. These new dungeons pit players against new and returning enemies, including plague-ridden ogres, powerful sorcerers and their undead creations, and even the reanimated bones of an ancient dragon.

Players will be rewarded with new items and monster sets, collectibles, and achievements, as well as a Renegade Dragon Priest mask, awarded just for entering one of the dungeons. The Dragon Bones DLC Game Pack will be free for ESO Plus members, and available for purchase from the Crown Store for non-members.

The free-for-everyone Update 17 will release simultaneously with Dragon Bones, and will include:

  • The Outfit System: allows players to customize the look of their equipment, regardless of equipped gear
  • Two New Battlegrounds: the Orc Stronghold of Mor Khazgur and the Dwarven ruins of Deeping Drome bring 2 new arenas for 4v4v4 multiplayer mayhem (Battlegrounds PvP requires ESO: Morrowind)
  • Home Storage System: this highly anticipated feature provides players the opportunity to lock items away safely in their homes via the Homestead housing system
  • Additional Gameplay Features: new quality of life additions will help new and experienced players get the most out of ESO, including the new Level Up and Skills Advisors, guiding players to the best upgrades when they level up; and improvements to combat, making it easier to identify and activate ability synergies.

The additions and improvements included in Update 17 will be available free of charge for all players.

This is a great update to Elder Scrolls Online. The game just continues to get better and better and we appreciate the work that goes into it.

We will have a review of the full game up soon on the site.

Grave Danger is launching their Ultimate Edition with 10 new levels that will include tons of new mechanics including tippy platforms, firewalls, and a rideable robotic bird.

Described by many over the past year to be the nearest potential spiritual successor to the retro game The Lost Vikings, Grave Danger is an action-packed adventure game about an unlikely group of heroes. Switch between Dante the cowboy, Elliot the wizard, and Malice the reaper; use their different abilities to solve puzzles and make their way out of trouble. Will you be able to guide them to victory?

Play single player or co-op to solve puzzles! Enlist your friends to control all three characters locally, utilizing them to their maximum potential. If you can’t play with a friend or want the completely single player experience, that’s fine too; the game will be completely playable in either mode.

Mentions in the Press

“A few games have taken inspiration from The Lost Vikings over the years, but none so elegantly as Grave Danger.” –Co-Optimus, Jan 2017

“It reminds me a lot of The Lost Vikings in both the way it plays and the genre-mixing, light-hearted attitude it takes.” –PCGamer.com, Dec 2016

The Gameplay Experience

Grave Dangers gameplay is about utilizing each character’s unique abilities to solve puzzles. The player will switch between these characters and master their movements and attacks, guiding our heroes further into the story. Manage your party and keep everyone alive. Nobody likes a dead teammate. Don’t leave your heroes unattended in a dangerous spot or they might get beat up!

Teamwork is essential in Grave Danger. Each character must pull their weight and traverse the world to safety. Dante the cowboy is capable of climbing vertical walls. Malice the reaper can float horizontally across chasms and through narrow and dangerous areas. Elliot the wizard has magical elevation and can jump again once mid-air.

Core features:

– Firewalls
– 30 levels (With update) Full Controller & Big Picture support.
– 3 unique characters all with different attack and jump abilities.
– 3 unique worlds with different enemies for each.
– The 3 worlds feature different kinds of puzzles.
– Player gets a grade at the end of each level prompting them to re-play for a higher grade.
collectibles in every level in the form of wanted posters.
– when a player dies, they return as a ghost and must return to their graveyard (checkpoint) to revive. This allows more mobility giving them the ability to explore in this form.

This is a really cool looking game. It looks to be a great twist on games from the past and we cannot wait. Are you looking forward to this?

Earthlock SHB Edition

We are very happy to announce that we will be relaunching Earthlock in Q1 next year. In many ways this version feels like a new game!

In fact, the changes are so big that there was no way we could keep it compatible with existing save games. In order to avoid problems where a patch would void all save games, we have set up a new game in the e-stores: EARTHLOCK

After we completed the PS4 version in January 2017 we began pre-production of Earthlock 2. However, after a few weeks of getting super excited about our next game, we realised that we were not comfortable leaving Earthlock: Festival of Magic behind as it was. A lot of the criticism we had gotten on the game by then were things we agreed with. For the initial launch we had to make quite a few cuts during the development and some of those cuts really hurt the story.

Long story short; We decided to make what we ended up internally calling the Should have been edition. That way we could leave Earthlock 1 behind us with pride and begin work on Earthlock 2.

The subtitle, Festival of Magic was an old remainder from our first kickstarter campaign and felt obsolete, so we decided to cut that, leaving us with: EARTHLOCK.

So what have we done in the last year?

  • Story: It’s massively changed. Almost from the start. We have added more depth, humor and character to the story and things that did not make sense before now do
  • Crafting: At Plumpet Island, we are happy to report that all buildings on Plumpet now have some kind of functionality
  • Side Quests: Yes, there are now side quests – as initially intended
  • Mini Games: Like treasure hunting
  • New scenes and characters
  • New and better animation
  • Improved cut scenes
  • Highly performance optimised
  • And much, much more

Important to note: Anyone who owns Earthlock: Festival of Magic will get the new game for free (Steam/GOG/PS4/XboxOne). The game is now in final QA and localization and will be published in Q1 2018.

(This is also the version that we will be launching on Nintendo Switch. Unfortunately we won’t be able to publish this version on Wii U.)

This is a great announcement to kick off the year. Are you excited, because we sure are?

Tekken 7 released earlier this year to much anticipation. The latest entry in the long running series received much success critically, now it seems they have also achieved commercial success with the game.

Japanese gaming site 4Gamer did their year end interviews with major figures in the Japanese gaming industry about the year in review and what is coming in 2018. Among those interviewed was Katsuhiro Harada of Bandai Namco, who gave an update on Tekken 7. Harada revealed that after only 2 months after launch the game had sold 2 million copies worldwide. However, now the number has risen to 3 million copies sold worldwide.

Harada then noted that Tekken 7 has seen  the most post launch support in the entire series, and he hopes to continue this throughout 2018. Considering the major post launch DLC so far for the game, this raises many possibilities.

Did you buy Tekken 7? If so, did you enjoy it? You can see our review of the game here.

HAMSTER has been on a roll lately. Their arcade archives series has seen a release on all major platforms, and they have been bringing some amazing games to modern systems such as PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, including bringing Nintendo’s classic arcade games to the Switch.

A recent interview with Famitsu has revealed much more is in store. According to HAMSTER CEO Satoshi Hamada, the company has the goal of releasing 800 Arcade Archive games. For some perspective, there are currently around 50 Arcade Archive games on the Nintendo Switch. Hopefully this goal becomes a reality and more classics come. We particularly would love to see Sega’s arcade classics made available again.

What would you want to see?
