Nintendo is preparing to launch the Wii U in North America on November 18th, people in the United States that pre ordered and are planning to buy the Wii U Deluxe set can look forward to a special promotion that will pay back consumers for spending money with Nintendo. Nintendo today reveals more details about the Promotion. The Promotion lets consumers earn points back when they purchased downloadable games and redeem those points for even more digital content in the online Nintendo eShop

All Dexule set owners who buy any form of digital content for their Wii U will earn points with a 10% equivalent value. Example, if a game is priced at $59.99 and this game is purchased and registered, consumers would earn 599 points. For every 500 points earned consumers can redeem a code worth $5.00 that can be used for either the Wii U or 3DS eShop. The Promotion will be through Nov. 18, 2012, until Dec. 31, 2014. All purchases then will be counted towards the actual of the program in December. Members will be able to see the points and credits they have earned by signing in with their Nintendo Network ID and password. Codes must be redeemed at the website by June 30, 2015. But the actual credit on the eShop already redeemed will not expire.

“From day one, we want Wii U owners to experience the full breadth of great downloadable games and content available for the console,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “The Deluxe Digital Promotion is our way of encouraging Wii U Deluxe Set owners to explore the Nintendo eShop and discover how Wii U offers an incredible combination of fun, innovation, convenience and value.”

Now games the qualify for the promotion are games and content published by Nintendo as well as games from Third party publishers. Purchases from the 3DS eShop or Wii U basic set are not eligible.

This program reminds me a lot of the Ambassador program that was introduced for early adopters of the 3DS. Even so, i’m still very excited about the program, given that I purchase plenty of Nintendo published games. It’s good to see Nintendo give back to hardcore supporters such as myself.

Reggie Fils-Aime today was once again the host for today’s Nintendo Direct, he introduced all of Nintendo’s holiday goodies along with some teasers to early 2013. Nintendo along with many 3rd party publishers have a great deal of games to satisfy hardcore Nintendo games as well as casual gamers. I certainly was not left disappointed with the amount information gathered from today’s presentation.

Paper Mario: Sticker Star is due to be released on November 11th in North America, and December 7th in Europe. Reggie explained over and over again that Nintendo will have the game available both in hard copy at the stores and digital copy via e-Shop. Nate Bildorf gave us a bit more details about the game as well. With Mario in this game there is no XP all you do is collect stickers to fight your opponents. Now remember once the sticker is use the sticker is gone. Coins and battles will be key to buy and win stickers. The battle spinner in battle will be key for winning battles.

Next, Reggie spoke about the Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask that comes out this Sunday. Reggie recommends anyone and everyone, even if you have played the game to give it a shot. The game comes with more puzzles than ever before. In addition to all the puzzles though story mode, the game adds 365 downloadable puzzles at no extra charge. One for everyday of the year.

DLC was released for New Super Mario Bros 2 today, 2 new course packs along with a leader board on the games official website. The Gold Mushroom pack is exactly as you read it, a level full of Golden mushrooms for you to collect. Challenge pack B, will challenge you to get a high score and share it with others.

Also talked about a few of the smaller games, one of those games was crosswords plus. The game has endless puzzles that come through SpotPass at no extra charge. Not much further info was reveled about the game. The next game is Art Academy Lessons for everyone. The game has a lot to offer for artist and beginning artist, the game is available now in the eshop and in stores, along with DLC coming soon. 2 packs are available now and 10 more lessons coming later. Finally Style Savvy Trendsetters was talked about for those who like to run a virtual store. There a Fashion Contest demo available now for download and another one Shopping Spree coming this December.

e-Shop starts to be the talk of the show with a few more adds to the library. Pushmo’s equal is talked about with Crashmo. The trick with this game is gravity with new gadgets such as floating blocks doors and move switches. This game will available November 2nd. Fluidity Spin Cycle is another game talked about that uses the full Nintendo 3DS as the controller. The game features an all story book setting and levels are designed for repetitive play. Some area require items to complete puzzles. The game will be available December 27nd.

New trilogy of games coming from Level-5 are also coming, Liberation Maiden from Suda-51. The game is available today. Also due this year the second 2 part trilogy. Aeroporter and Chrimson Shroud are coming soon.

From the creators of Cave Story, Nicalism, Night Sky and later this year Ikachan are coming to the 3DS as well.

If you love Mutant Mudds from Renegade Kid there is 20 new bonus levels also available today.

Reggie also revealed a new trailer for a game that was leaked accidentally by Reggie at E3, the only thing we know about this game so far is that it will include some DLC for new maps and story lines to along with it. Also Reggie Fils-Aime stated in the latest Nintendo Direct that the game will be coming to North America during the first half of 2013.

Now finally for one of my favorite games coming in early 2013 is Animal Crossing New Leaf. The game is now allowing you to choose your shops and hours. How and why? well because you are now the major. You now have the ability to design your outfits from head to toe, that includes socks as well. People will have the chance to share the creations and designs via QR code. As major you will also have control of what major land marks to place in your town, thus letting you mold your city to your desire.

I certainly have open arms for all the upcoming Nintendo 3DS games coming up Animal Crossing and Sitcker Star being my main choices. I have a very very busy schedule the next couple of months filled with video game playing!

Warner Bros. just announced, through press release, that Mario and Zelda characters will be available on the Wii U version of Scribblenauts Unlimited. Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Yoshi, Link, Zelda, Epona, and Goron have all been confirmed. This also includes items from the series as well. These will be characters that can be summoned in the game. Its good to also note that adjectives won’t work on the Nintendo characters. But this wont stop Players from summoning  karts, mushrooms, and more.

Here is the press release email:

BURBANK, Calif. – October 17, 2012 – Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announces that its highly anticipated Scribblenauts Unlimited game will feature even more than ever before, with Nintendo themed bonus content. Players can summon dozens of their favorite characters and items from the Mario™ and Legend of Zelda™ franchises exclusively in the Wii U™ version of the game.

Players will delight in producing fantastical and sometimes hilarious interactions between the Mario and Legend of Zelda characters and objects, alongside everyone’s favorite word-wielding Scribblenauts adventurer, Maxwell. Discovered Nintendo characters and objects will behave in the fun and fantastical ways they do in their respective game worlds.

Scribblenauts Unlimited expands upon the best-selling, award-winning video game franchise that challenges players to imagine anything and bring it to life in the game. This latest Scribblenauts installment will feature a huge side-scrolling open world with new, high-definition hand-drawn scenery and objects where players can help Maxwell solve robust puzzles and challenges by creating any object they can imagine.

Created and developed by 5TH Cell, Scribblenauts Unlimited will include all-new features, more exploration and a completely original gaming experience for the Wii U system, Nintendo 3DS™ hand-held system and PC this November.

This is obviously very exciting news! Many fans have always been asking for this. Here is hoping that they also have some exclusive characters on the Nintendo 3DS version. Seeing Link in any game as a cameo is good enough for me, but knowing how the series works the game should have a couple of good chuckles in store for us.

Nintendo is dropping the price of the Wii later this month. It will be available for $129.99 starting on October 28.

The Wii hasn’t seen a price drop since last year. It’s been on sale for $149.99 since May 2011.

Along with the bundle coming October 28th, Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort together on the same disc.

Here is the official Press Release from Nintendo:

REDMOND, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Nintendo is dropping the Wii console to a suggested retail price of $129.99 U.S. in advance of the busy holiday shopping season. The new configuration is beginning to arrive in stores now, and will be broadly available in the U.S. by Oct. 28. This high-value configuration includes a black Wii console and both Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort on a single game disc, as well as a Wii Remote Plus and a Nunchuk controller – both black to match the console. This configuration replaces the current black Wii that comes with New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
“Nearly six years after it launched, people are still attracted to the pure, inclusive fun of the Wii console,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “A new suggested retail price and the inclusion of two great games make it an easy choice for families looking for a great value this holiday season.”

Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort represent two iconic games that helped pioneer the industry move toward motion-controlled video games. The games include a wide variety of sports that use the controllers in unique ways. Players can try their hand at sports like bowling, tennis, baseball, archery, table tennis and basketball, all while simulating real-life motions using the Wii Remote Plus controller. For the first time, both games are included on a single game disc.

Remember that Wii features parental controls that let adults manage the content their children can access. For more information about this and other features, visit
