No GravatarThe Entertainment Consumers Association ( or commonly known as the ECA) is the non-profit membership organization that represents consumers of interactive entertainment in the US and Canada. They are people who have come together to help gamers stay informed about rising issues within the industry, as well as the various communities throughout the internet. One of the many things they do for us is host various podcast that help inform and educate gamers out there, old and new. Their Community Manager Joe Betancourt host many podcast on there, one of which is called Voice of a Gamer. It is a small show where individuals can have the opportunity to talk about their experience and interaction with Video games, the industry, and how it has impacted or influenced their life. On one of their episodes, I was given the chance to shine and talk a bit about how video games were a part of my life, as well as share a few thoughts on the industry and past time we all love. No GravatarSome thoughts on something that can potentially become a very BIG problem. An interesting and controversial topic is starting to come to light with recent releases like Deus Ex Human Revolution. It involves two big websites and the people who use one of them to post videos of video games and play-throughs of them. That is both IGN and Yotube. The question at hand here is whether of not it is right or even possible for a website like IGN to flag videos on Youtube for Copyright Infringement on Youtube users and their own videos. This includes video footage of high profile games and “Let’s Plays” of those games. Check out the video below for the full run-down.

No GravatarHere is Part 4 of our pictures from Mizucon Miami. Here, there are tons of photos we took from the convention floor. Checking out everything from the cosplay, to the booths, to the panels, the concerts, and of course, the stars.

This past weekend, the ROG staff and myself got to go to Mizucon 2011 and check out all the cool things present there. What occurred was a truly EPIC festival of Anime goodness. A place where fans of anime from all over Florida, and even some far away places around the US, came together to celebrate their beloved hobbies and media. There were so many great and awesome people there, as well as so many cool looking and ambitious costumes worn by many of the con’s attendees.

But check it out for yourself. Check out our main gallery of pictures from the showroom floor of Mizucon 2011. The Anime Mecca of Miami.

No GravatarCome get some truth…

We’re here to chew bubblegum and review games. And we’re all out of gum….

This time on OTGT, VFM gets a chance to review Duke Nukem Forever on both the Xbox 360 and the PC. This is a game that is 12 years in the making. Many have stood by and watch the EPIC saga of this game unfold from it’s first announcement back in the 90s. Only now has the game finally been released to the general public. There’s just one important question….

Does this game live up to the hype? Was it worth waiting over 12 years for Duke to come back guns blazing?

Watch the review an find out.

No GravatarIt’s time again people.

Time for the EPICness that is OTGT. It’s time for only the truth about the video game industry.

This time around, VFM gets a chance to talk about a new bill being brought to light and towards the doors of congress. This bill, dubbed Bill S.978, is a purposed law to crack down on those who stream copyrighted content over the internet, dishing out possible jail time to multiple time offenders for up to 5 years in prison. It sounds good in theory. But how should it be interpreted? Does it affect all the other people who don’t willingly infringe on Copyrights?

All of this and more on this segment of OTGT.

Check out some information on Bill S.978 for yourself on the link below.
