As previously mentioned, Nintendo has rejected Axiom Verge for release on the Nintendo Switch. This has left many wondering why this happened, but now developer Thomas Happ has revealed why the game was refused by Nintendo.

Nintendo apparently has a policy of no late ports, although as Happ points out, this is inconsistent with Minecraft, Skyrim, Stardew Valley and I am Setsuna coming to Switch later. It should be noted though that Minecraft and I am Setsuna have Nintendo exclusive content, Stardew Valley will see its console version multiplayer debut on Switch. It could be that the late ports are only okay if they have something unique to them.
