One Eyed Kutkh is an adventure game done to resemble point and click style games, or so it was described as. I would instead use a much more accurate description. Before I go any further into this review, I will say this with advance warning: This is the worst game I have played on the Switch thus far. The puzzles are either too simple or nonsensical and the gameplay in general feels like it was designed by someone who is just learning the basics of game development. The game is seemingly about guiding an alien who crashes his ship, but the character is so bland that there is no way to connect. Add to that, the game gives hints in the most obtuse ways, and you have a recipe for disaster.
I cannot stress this enough, the game is too bizarre for its own good and reaches the point where it is just nonsense for the sake of nonsense. It feels like the game wants to be an artistic game, but falls so short of doing so that is becomes incomprehensible. Some of the puzzles that can be solved simply do not make sense, because logic tells you that is not the solution, You want to believe you are missing something complex because when you realize how simple and basic the game is, you will be horrified at how you wasted your time. I absolutely despise One Eyed Kutkh in its current release. If this were a demo to show off some tech, I could understand it. As a game for sale though, this is just a complete waste of time and space. Whether its the boring visuals and music, the disgustingly bad gameplay, or the just the overall feeling that you must be imagining that this is real, One Eyed Kutkh is a failure in every sense of the word. Guiding the alien should not be so annoying but it is.
I received a review code for this game in exchange for my honest opinion, and I feel that any less than what I said so far would not be honest. This is not a game to spend your money on, even for young kids. Young kids deserve much better than this. Buy them Vs. Super Mario Bros. instead and let them experience a true game. Let this game be forgotten and move on with your life. Don’t look back, and find another game to enjoy. You wont be missing anything.
