Puzzle Games are some of the best type of games. They challenge us to think differently and try new methods of going about, and when combined with platformers they often surpass our wildest expectations. Super Chariot is one such game and I am pleased to say that it is a real gem on the Switch.  I love puzzle games that allow for co-op play and this is perhaps the best one I have seen in a while.

I want to clarify, that the Switch release has co-op encouraged more than ever thanks to the JoyCons. I often play the Switch when I am waiting for an appointment or in such locations, and people often approach with interest about the Switch. During a recent instance of this, I used the opportunity to show off the JoyCons and Super Chariot. This may seem unusual to some people, but I viewed it as a chance to see what newcomers to the system might think, as well as how they would like such a co-op game.

To my great joy (pun fully intended), the people I tried the game out with all loved it. There was something to it that just seemed so inviting. Even the difficult parts were not a turnoff, and many of the people I tried the game out with had no issues but instead were both curious and excited to learn more about how to play. This ended up being both an experiment and a review and I am glad I did both. Everyone commented on how good the visuals were, and the only complaints people had were that the game was a bit slow ( they meant slowdown) at the start of some stages.

Super Chariot forces you to think, and that was appreciated by everyone. There is a majesty to the genre of puzzle games when done right that other genres cannot match. A game like this got people who had never tried the switch to become interested in the system. That is the power of a good game and that is the power of good game design.
