Materia Collective is pleased to present The Eightfold Road (Metal Arrangements from Octopath Traveler) arranged and performed by YouTube sensation FamilyJules (Jules Conroy) and several videogame musicians from YouTube and beyond. The acclaimed soundtrack by composer Yasunori Nishiki has been a fan-favorite since even before it was released, and FamilyJules–best known for his 300+ arrangements on YouTube and for contributions to Crypt of the Necrodancer and Binding of Isaac–provides a new musical journey spanning nearly two hours that covers metal, rock, acoustic and more. The Eightfold Road (Metal Arrangements from Octopath Traveler) is now available now in digital formats with a physical two-disc CD version to begin shipping soon:
“I’ve been making metal covers of videogame music on YouTube for over eight years now, most of that time releasing weekly,” reflects arranger FamilyJules. “I’ve always wanted to do albums based on single game soundtracks but couldn’t ever decide on one. When I heard Octopath Traveler, I knew it was special, so I went for it. The hardest part was realizing that even if I narrowed the songs down to the absolute essentials, there were still 32 tracks that needed to be included. The 32 songs on this album came together in only three months. I’m super proud of the sheer amount of music I was able to put out as I deeply loved the soundtrack and had an absolute blast recreating the songs for metal, acoustic, and more!”
Key themes from the game are featured, including all eight character themes and all the riveting battle tracks along with many of the beautiful soundscapes that accompany the world of Octopath Traveler. Guest performers include insaneintherainmusic, Dan DeSimone, Sab Irene, ToxicxEternity, and Adriana Figueroa.
