In April, Nintendo confirmed a breach involving Nintendo Network IDs, noting that  160,000 accounts had been illegally accessed. Today they released a follow-up report and it turns out the breach was bigger than realized.

Nintendo revealed140,000 additional accounts may have been hacked, bringing the total to 300,000. The company says that less than 1 percent of these led to fraudulent purchases, and Nintendo has reset the password of the 140,000 Nintendo Network IDs that have been impacted in addition to the Nintendo Accounts linked to them.

The company has noted that additional security measures are also being taken moving forward.
