Nintendo announced Bayonetta 3 back in 2017 and recently gave a 2022 release window, but no actual date was given. However, it seems that may change soon as the official info page for Bayonetta 3 on Nintendo.com has received a new update. Last week, the page stated that Bayonetta 3’s ESRB rating was still pending, but as of today, that listing has been updated with a Mature rating.
This was noticed by Reddit user XDitto on the Nintendo Switch subreddit, who stated that the rating mentions:
- Violence
- Blood and Gore
- Partial Nudity
- Strong Language
- In-Game Purchases
The game getting a Mature rating was expected, and most of this all fits but the more important aspect is that getting the rating implies a launch is closer now. Given that 2022 is more than half over, we will hopefully get news soon. The mention of In-Game Purchases does stand out a bit, but that could just mean a season pass or other DLC such as additional weapons and costume DLC.
Let’s just hope the game lives up to the hype.
