Fans of Sega’s Wonder Boy are a dedicated bunch and have taken it upon themselves to keep the series going in various ways. One such example is indie developer Samuel Blanchard who is working on a new Wonder Boy Game, unofficially of course.
Blanchard’s new game will be a Wonder Boy sequel made for the Atari ST and will be called Miracle Boy in Dragon Land. This is not a totally new concept, as fan pitches have resulted in Wonder Boy Projects before, such as the remake of The Dragon’s Trap and the official sequel Monster Boy and The Cursed Kingdom ( the game rights and name rights are held separately, so the game needed to be renamed, but the original creators got involved with the team)
Not too much is known about the project at the moment besides the fact that it is for the Atari ST, is being made “with love in 68000 assembler” and will replicate the action RPG aspects of the Wonder Boy series. Those interested can join this Facebook group to track the progress of the game and follow Samuel on Twitter for more updates.
