Another icon has left us, this time Earl Boen, well known as the psychologist Dr. Silberman in the Terminator franchise and as the voice of Captain LeChuck from the Monkey Island series. Boen was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer late last year and after a short battle, passed away at age 81.
In addition to voicing the zombie/ghost/demon pirate, Boen also voiced characters in other franchises such as World of Warcraft, Psychonauts, Call of Duty, Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance, Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance and Sons of Liberty. In addition to his role in The Terminator films, he appeared in other roles in Seinfeld, The Wonder Years, and My Stepmother Is An Alien.
He will be missed.
