Dragon’s Crown Pro is the complete edition of the 2013 game Dragon’s Crown. It is a tale about heroes in search of an amazing treasure and the quests they take as they head toward their ultimate goal. Dragon’s Crown Pro is a fantastic game that offers up quite the experience and can be played solo or with friends.
The game begins with the player making a character from six different classes. There are three males: the dwarf, knight, and wizard. And there are three females: the amazon, elf, and sorceress. Each of the characters also has different color palette, so the player can choose the one they like best. The artwork outside of gameplay is rather interesting as it is quite exaggerated. The art style is rather sexually charged in nature but is really quite well done. Along with choosing the color palette the players can create sayings for the character and make them their own.
The six classes all play differently and have their own ways of doing things. In my playthrough, my sister and I played as an elf and a sorceress respectively. The sorceress class is rather overpowered in that she can restore her magic simply by waiting. When no enemies are around it only takes a few moments to completely restore the magic power. The elf class is also quite good as it is quick and nimble. The player originally only gets ten arrows but enemies readily drop more.
The town is the hub of the game and holds an array of places for the players to visit. There is the inn where adventures begin and parties can be formed. This is also the place to save the game and quit, and of course is very important, so always head there to fill out your party unless the player wishes to face the game alone. There is also a shop where items can be appraised and obtained. It is often a good idea to throw useless items away.
The Adventurer’s guild is another key location and one where quests can be taken. Joseph is a huge knight who runs the organization and at first, doesn’t think much of the player. After sending them on their first quest, his thoughts of them change and soon. He is happy to let you join his ranks. This is also the place to spend skill points and gain new skills. The sorceress can gain the support ability to restore magic with every hit and summon skeletons to aid the team. It is up to the player to make the choices and it gives even more customization to the player.
The last important place in the game is actually the church. This is where players can revive fallen heroes they may find in the dungeons. It is rather interesting seeing characters resurrected from their bones, especially without science. By resurrecting fallen heroes, the player can increase their own power. It isn’t possible to increase the level of these heroes, so it is pertinent to keep changing the heroes as stronger ones are found. This is a rather unique idea as it also locks the character to the level they died at. It is interesting playing a game and resurrecting players to aid the player. This ties in with the people playing the game too, as players can attach messages to their characters.
The game itself is a quick game where split-second decisions are sometimes necessary. It is interesting playing with friends as the game offers up quite the challenge as the game progresses. There is, of course, a strong desire to challenge each other to kill more monsters, and this game will, of course, give more experience to the player who deserves it
This game also has an interesting story that revolves around the heroes and the royal family. Joining the adventurer’s guild, the players are tasked with quests and soon come in contact with the royal family. This family is fraught with troubles as everyone vies for a shot at the throne. There is Princess Vivian who is the heir to the throne and her prime minister facing the wicked Count Dean. Both feel they are worthy, but Vivian is truly the only one who should be guaranteed the role.
Dragon’s Crown Pro is ultimately a great dungeon trawler with fantastic animation. The monsters look fierce and the characters look ready to take them on. The adventures can be troublesome and the locations vast and yet so well drawn. This game is a sight to behold and the whole game just looks like the player is playing an illustrated epic. This game is every bit as challenging as the player wants it to be and is worth playing.
Dragon’s Crown Pro is a great game and one that plays well either solo or with friends. Playing solo, the player can create a party of resurrected friends, so they won’t be at a disadvantage. This game though shines brighter when played with friends as it’s chaotic style meshes so well with co-op play.
