Bandai Namco sent out the following
In part 1 of A Watery Grave, we dove into the art of creating motion and sound to immerse players in The Dark Pictures – Man of Medan’s world. From detailed boat movement animations that correspond with character movement on a boat, to recording actual sounds of a boat traveling at speed and crashing against the waves, realism and accuracy work in concert to take players into the game world to provide heart-pounding moments for players to enjoy.
Today, we go behind the scenes once again to look at the development of The Dark Pictures – Man of Medan in A Watery Grave part 2. Today’s chapter shows players the creative process behind the use of color, lighting, and camera motion in order to change the game’s mood. Additionally, subtle details pertaining to natural human movement make a huge difference in setting the stage for deep immersion into the game environment.
The Dark Pictures – Man of Medan is slated for a summer 2019 release in the Americas for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PCs via STEAM.
