I’ve recently begun enjoying jigsaw puzzles and with luck, a new jigsaw puzzle game has come to Nintendo Switch. In Animated Jigsaw it is up to the player to put together jigsaw puzzles. Though in this game there is a catch as the puzzles images are moving. This is an interesting concept as the player can’t always figure out where the pieces go. Unlike a solid puzzle, this forces the player to study the image and put the pieces together.

Animated Jigsaw is an interesting game as well because it allows for multiple players to join in on the fun. This is a good thing as finishing puzzles with friends is far more entertaining. The players put together a puzzle and when it is finished they can feel some sense of accomplishment. There aren’t many puzzles for the player/s to take on, but this game is perfect for short gaming bursts.

The one thing that makes this less relaxing, is the fact that there are timers. It can take the player out of the zen magic of puzzle solving. With a timer on the screen, there is a high chance the player will begin racing the clock, but the puzzles are meant to be finished at one’s own place. Though, it can also be said without this, that it isn’t a game so it is alright in my book.

Animated Jigsaws is a solid game for short bursts of fun unless the player really enjoys puzzles. It isn’t necessarily a game worth playing for long periods of time, but can be fun. It’s nice seeing a game with moving puzzles, and the images are quite nice. Animated Jigsaws is a game worth playing if the player enjoys puzzles and that is all it has to be.
