The long saga of the Atari VCS may finally be ending now, as after three years since it was first revealed and funded, the initial batch of finalized Atari VCS consoles are finally now ready to ship out.  The units are allegedly on their way from China to the US where Indiegogo backers will get their system.

Many believed the Atari VCS, aka the Ataribox would never come out after numerous delays and the project architect quitting and claiming he still has not been paid. This does not even get into the events on the Atari VCS subreddit that show the timeline of events that have plagued this console since its announcement, including lashing out at press/

If the shipment goes smoothly, this may have all been worth it, but that still remains to be seen at this time.  Atari has also shared assembly line photos on Medium that depict the Collector’s Edition model and a photo of pallets stacked with thousands of Atari VCS consoles, but until they are delivered, nothing is a guarantee.
