It had been reported earlier by some sites that Axiom Verge would be coming to Switch and would have a physical release. Dan Adelman, who handles the PR for the game, has since stated this is not true.
Sorry to be a bummer but if you listen to the podcast, you'll see that Tom never said that @AxiomVerge is confirmed for Switch… 🙁 https://t.co/w1OfDKt4Xm

In fact, Adelman has strongly implied Nintendo rejected the game and it could have been a launch title otherwise.
100% up to @NintendoAmerica. It could have been a launch title if they had approved it. https://t.co/AEHxkcTQQb

This is extremely strange. The game has been received well and seen success wherever it was available. This even includes the Wii U where it shot up the sales charts quickly. Why is Nintendo not allowing it on the Switch, especially if it would have been ready for launch day? This is very unusual.
