After the closure of Sega Akihabara Arcade Building 4, and a brief rebranding as the GiGO Akihabara Arcade Building 4 during Genda GiGO Entertainment, Inc.’s ownership of the site, a new owner is coming in. The till now vacant location will be taken over by Bandai Namco, which is moving in multiple cabinets of its titles, and part-time job recruitment for game centre staff has appeared on job sites in Japan.

Akihabara Arcade Building 4 was a key part of the Akihabara gaming scene, especially due to its location south of the Akihabara train station. The location was not just an arcade and also contained a cafe, that hosted several partnership events with popular game franchises.

The building is set to be renamed ‘Namco Akihabara’ and is expected to open this March.
