Baten Kaitos Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean and Baten Kaitos: Origins were two beloved RPGs for the GameCube from Bandai Namco and Monolithsoft in the latter’s pre-Nintendo days in Europe. The series has not been seen since the GameCube days, but they may be changing soon.
Bancai Namco has filed for trademarks on “Baten Kaitos Eternal Wings” and “Baten Kaitos: Origins” in Europe. The filing in Europe is interesting, since Origins never released in that region.
There is some confusion among many as to who owns what in the series, with some reports that Nintendo has an ownership stake in the series, so hopefully that is cleared up soon.
