Earlier today, Bethesda tweeted out a link that appears to be a countdown to a Fallout 4 announcement. The tweet first appeared from the @BethesdaStudios account and was quickly retweeted by their official Twitter account, @Bethblog.
The tweet contains the hashtag, “#PleaseStandBy,” and gives a link to the webpage http://fallout.bethsoft.com with a countdown ticker with less than twenty-four hours on the clock. The countdown clock is in a style that has previously been associated with the Fallout series. The website http://falout4.com did contain the same countdown clock as well. However, at the time of this publication, it appears to have been taken down.
Both the initial @BethesdaStudios Twitter account and the @Bethblog account have a picture of the clock as the header for their pages with an “RP” or “Rating Pending” ESRB rating in the lower right hand corner.
“Fallout 4” and “Bethesda” immediately began trending on Twitter as speculation that an announcement for the fourth installment of the popular action-RPG is imminent. It has been rumored that Bethesda may announce Fallout 4 since they are hosting their first ever E3 press conference this year. Bethesda’s E3 conference is scheduled for June 14 at 7 pm PT.
We will be following this closely as more details are available.
