Riverbond is a fun little game filled with characters. It’s a game that has a bunch of wacky weapons for the player to collect and a world that the player can destroy. This game is all about taking down swarms of enemies with different weapons to save the world and I’m all for it. Especially since this game is built in little blocks, it increases the entertainment value, at least for me. When players start the game they should choose to play the tutorial. In this tutorial, the game will guide the player on how to play. They will also gain a few costumes to show off the character element. It’s nice to have a tutorial even if a player is assured of themselves. It might not be for everyone but it’s a good way to start a player on the right track. Plus, if non-gamers are playing its nice to give them a little lesson.
Players will battle through different environments taking out bosses and other monsters. They will gather different weapons and move through each level collecting new gear. There are quite a lot of weapons that the player can come across. They get stronger as the player progresses but sometimes they are just odd. For instance, a lollipop might be stronger than a broadsword. There are both slashing weapons and long-range weapons. It just takes a simple button press to switch between them. Sometimes players will need to shoot targets to open up new areas so it is important to be ready at all times. Plus the long-range weapons can be used to mix up combat and that makes them worth using.
There are nine different locales for players to play through. The areas do get more interesting, starting simple and getting more intense. Comparing say the first stage and last stage players will see quite a change. The player might be facing a fish in the beginning but by the end, they are slaying demons. The game has little stories for each of the worlds so players can rest assured that they will get a little from each of them. They aren’t too in-depth but this game is one that players can pick up and put down easily so I think that is for the best. This game doesn’t aim to be a massive time user its something that players can enjoy in bites. In this day and age, I think sometimes people need little game breaks and Riverbond fits the bill.
This game is one that can be played with four people simultaneously and couch co-op is always a good time. This game is a frantic rush and players will have to keep on their toes to get through every level. There is something about playing this game multiplayer that turns the fun up to eleven. The game itself is chaotic in single-player mode, so having more players makes it crazier. This game is so basic in design but also so strange and wonderful. It’s simply a solid adventure game and I enjoyed playing it with and without other players. The game might not be the hardest but have others as backup never hurts. There is also a king’s garden where players can roam around and look at all of the playable characters. It’s great to see them walking around even though they don’t interact with each other. Players can freely change between the characters so it’s just a fun diversion. The first time players enter they will gain a slew of characters too, which is a nice bonus.
I’ve enjoyed this game’s aesthetic, its different from other games. It has a slight Minecraft vibe but it is also entirely its own thing. I enjoy seeing the world break apart as I slay the enemies. The world is so fresh and free, and it brings me back to a time when all I wanted to do was destroy. The game gives me a childlike sense and I appreciate that. Riverbond is a game that is better played with friends. A game that will lead the players through weird worlds taking down boxy foes while they collect weapons and costumes. This game is a fun little game that should give players a good time. With multiple bosses to take on and a boxy world to explore, will the player save the day?
