Ibb and Obb is a fantastic cooperative game that tasks two friends to play a game together. This game is a platformer, and at times can be rather hard. Ibb and Obb starts out slow but quickly becomes a challenging game, one that gets harder depending on who is playing. I’m not used to playing cooperatively, so pairing myself with my sister wasn’t the best choice. Ibb and Obb is a simple game that requires two players; there is no way around that. There might be a player out there who could deftly handle playing as both characters, but that would take a lot of work. This game is a platformer that takes work figuring out how to get through it. It’s a Newtonian styled game that considers physics.

The game is meant to be challenging but also a testament to what a pair can do. Two friends must work together to take on a world where gravity goes both up and down. Nothing is as it seems and sometimes the answer is right under the duo’s noses. This game will test the player’s, and should they get to the end will be rewarding. The players will travel through levels collecting glowing objects. These objects don’t necessarily do anything, but its good to at least try to collect them all. These objects do gleam so brightly that losing them is a little disheartening. The game also holds secret levels for the pair to uncover. These levels are Non-Newtonian and can be quite challenging. The players must turn on their thinking caps and take on countless challenges that will test their mettle. It’s great to try clearing these levels, but the game doesn’t hold it against the pair.

The aesthetic of the game is rather cute. Ibb and Obb are small creatures exploring a vast world. Monsters are roaming the world that look like blobs. They aren’t at all scary but just ominous figures for the players to get by. The game itself is peaceful though the game itself can be agitating depending on how the partners play together. The fifteen levels in the game each have different music too. It’s like each level is in a different world. Kettel, a man that is known for his electronica performs the music for this game. It’s beautiful music and works well with what this game is trying to do. Give it a listen and feel a sense of calm wash over you.

Ibb and Obb is a great platformer and a fun cooperative experience. I’m never the biggest fan of platforming, but trying to play through this game with my sister was interesting. This game tested our mettle and made us work together, which is something we’ve never done well. If the player has a good friend to work with, this would be a great gaming experience. Ibb and Obb is at its core a cooperative adventure will a dynamic duo take it on?
