When The Simpsons was released on Disney+ last November, there was excitement over the archive being on a new platform. However, controversy arose over the fact that the early episodes could only be watch in 16:9 aspect ratio, rather than the original 4:3 ratio, a decision that ruined many of the show’s visual jokes. This will soon change however.

Seasons 1 to 19–and part of Season 20 onward can be watched in their original ratio, and this will start on Thursday, May 28. This news was confirmed in a tweet from Disney, which you can see below,
