D3 Publisher and developer Sandlot have announced in the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu that the companies will release Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders from Planet Space for Switch on July 15 in Japan for 3,980 yen, with Earth Defense Force 2017 coming to Switch in the fall.
Both games will be ports with similar specifications to PS Vita versions. Interestingly, D3 Publisher producer Nobuyuki Okajima stated that the company wanted to begin porting form the original SIMPLE 2000 Series Vol. 31: THE Earth Defense Force, but gave up because it was too technically difficult.
