We all know and love the Switch, as it is a truly amazing system. Recently I have been thinking about what games would fit well on the platform and had an interesting idea. Capcom has become a big supporter of the Switch and we know that Nintendo is getting aggressive with getting exclusive games as we saw with Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3. As such I began thinking of the various Capcom games I would like to see on the system. I then realized there is one that I would like to see more than others and that is Tatsunoko vs Capcom 2.
I realize this is an odd choice, but TvC was an amazing fighting game on the Wii, and one Capcom considered a success. I think a second game with an expanded roster and maybe even a couple of guest fighters from Nintendo themselves would be amazing. TvC brought not only characters unknown in the west but also characters from Capcom games who hadn’t been seen in years like Alex from Street Fighter, who has since reappeared in Street Fighter V.
I would love to see more characters from various Tatsunoko series and more Capcom characters appear, especially on the Capcom side, because it could give characters who did not appear in MvCI, a chance to shine again. TvC was the best fighting game on the Wii, and yes it was even better than Smash. It stood out above all others. at the time and was also different enough from the Marvel vs Capcom series with its own mechanics.
I could easily see this be expanded into its own side series, and I think Nintendo should step in and try and help Capcom get this made ( and like I said, maybe loan a few characters of their own). It could look better and give Nintendo that exclusive traditional fighting game that they need. As well, it could really help Nintendo break into another part of the esports scene that they don’t usually get attention from.
I would also like to see the original TvC get re-released on the Switch, in HD if possible, and with the online restored. Considering that TvC sold well enough on the Wii for Capcom to call it a success, I think this is not a bad idea.
But I am curious as to what you all think. Would you buy such a game? Let me know!
