There has been no mainline Castlevania since Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2, aside from the mobile game Castlevania Grimoire of Souls, but that does not mean no one wishes to work on it. Eric Williams of Sony Santa Monica, the director of God of War Ragnarök, revealed during a recent Kinda Funny Games Spoilercast that he wants to work on the series should Konami be willing to license the franchise out and called on fans to help make it happen.

Williams then noted: “I just got into so much trouble!”

His words were  “You guys can make it happen, because you have the audience of the world here… I don’t know what I’m doing next, but if somebody gives me that Castlevania license, we would love to make that.”

Konami has begun outsourcing its IP again, with Silent Hill 2 getting a remake from Bloober Team, so it is not impossible that Castlevania will get licensed out as well.

What do you think?

Would you like to see Sony Santa Monica take on the iconic series?
