SuperMash is one of the niftiest ideas for a game to come into existence. The basic premise is combining game styles to make something new. It’s not the run of the mill game but should tickle any gamer’s fancy. It’s a game players can literally pick up and play anytime as the games are always random! The game even has a story that I didn’t expect it to have. A young group of adults are running a game store. After one of the young men gives his old system to a boy in need of a little help, he is gifted a box of old games. He and his friends soon learn they have a mash machine. This machine can mash two game styles together!
The story revolves around this young man and his sister trying to revitalize their game store. It’s bound to be closed soon due to the landlord, and the only way they can change this is through more business. Luckily they might just have found something that will change their lives. The Mash Machine is something, unlike the world, has ever seen, and it is going to change the world as they know it. Players take two genres and mash em together. The game does its best to make any game the player wishes. The games aren’t necessarily perfect, but they are always quite fun. It must come down to the fact that each game is random. Players never know what they are going to come up with, and that spices things up.
The game will show off the title screen first. Then it will highlight the player character and their health. It also will show off any glitches which can positively or negatively affect the character and their opponents in-game. Plus it will highlight the character’s special abilities for that game. It’s just in-depth enough to provide a good basis for understanding. This game offers rather limitless combinations, and games always come out differently. The first game I played through was Bargain Hunter Cool! It was a JRPG Platformer starring a strange character named Digiguy Wings. Digiguy Wings was joined by Valterion Malik and Digiguy Flame, his two best friends.
The game takes a lot of heart from old school games. The JRPG style for battle is reminiscent of Final Fantasy VII. I am a big fan of the Final Fantasy battle formula, so it was a treat. Other styles are clear references to series like Legend of Zelda and Mario. This game is an old school gamer’s paradise in a way, and that is cool.
Players will gain special cards for clearing games. These cards are used to change the games themselves. Players can set different things like the music in the game or the player character. It’s possible to make the game harder with these too, just depends on what cards are used. The cards allow for solid customization, which can let the player play the game they want. Though if the cards aren’t holographic, they are one use. The player can also obtain cards through a gacha machine. This machine allows players to buy packs of three cards. It’s great to slowly build up a reserve of cash and then buy a few packs. Players might even pull holographic cards which are always a plus! Players can also take on game creation requests. Make a game based on a customer’s request and clear it. This will net the player some cards and a satisfied customer. Just think of them as in-game challenges as the player will need to finish every game for it to count. They are worth completing as they might lead the player to mash differently than usual.
SuperMash is an awesome game that brings players into a creative world. Players can take on all sorts of randomized creations. Never hate the games as the game is just trying to fit the mold set by the player. SuperMash has a pretty nice story too and should be infinitely playable. There is something so cool about playing random game fusions and I dig it.
