The homebrew scene is continuing its fantastic work. While Castlevania is a series that only had two entries on Sega systems, the port of Symphony of the Night for Saturn and Casltevania: Bloodlines for Genesis/Megadrive, there were other games planned including the cancelled Castlevania Ressurection for the Dreamcast. This is in contrast to Nintendo which has multiple Castlevania games appear on its systems, but now the fans are balancing things out somewhat.

The Master System coder xfixium, known for making a version of Golden Axe for the Master System that is far better than the official version, is working on a conversion of Castlevania for the Sega platform. In a video release, xfixium noted that this is a work in progress, and uses a Trevor Belmont sprite as a placeholder, with the conversion actually being inspired by the x68000 version of the game that later became Castlevania Chronicles. The demo that exists now is more of a proof of concept code for scrolling that the dev applied to a Master System  TMNT project.”

Hopefully, the project comes along well as we can enjoy the final product when it is finished, and in the meantime you can see the WIP video below.
